Four Destinations, Countless Experiences in Jordan
What can you expect from a budget trip to Jordan? Nader recently found out firsthand and shares whether it is truly worth it.
Q: What made you choose a small group tour?
N: I like to travel with new people and enjoy my time discovering a new country.
Q: The trip you booked was a guided tour. How did it feel to travel with a guide on this tour? Would you travel with a guide again? Why or why not?
N: Of course. I enjoy guided tours especially because the guide's tips are what makes me discover the country better.
Q: How was it joining a trip to Jordan as a solo traveler?
N: It was a good decision, especially that a lot of things made more fun doing them with others.
Q: How is it to travel Jordan as a Young Adult (18 to 39 age range) traveler? Would you recommend Jordan to other young adult travelers, and why?
N: It was adventurous and we could do more activities, especially hiking and walking in Petra and Wadi Rum.
Q: The tour is what we deem to be a budget tour. Did the tour meet your expectations given the lower price point? Why or why not?
N: Yes it did, especially that a lot of activities were included and not optional.
Q: Were there any parts of the trip that surprised you in terms of quality or value?
N: Yeah, the hotel in Petra was very nice and also the star gazing option we had in Wadi Rum.
Q: Which destinations, cities, or highlights did you cover on your trip, and which stood out the most?
N: Petra and Wadi Rum were the best. Amman and Madaba were nice.
Q: What was a memorable moment or story from your journey that you’d like to highlight?
N: The top view from the Royal Tombs hiking trail allowing a top view of the Petra Treasury was a must see in a lifetime. Also the mountains of Wadi Rum were amazing!
Q: What were your favorite activities or excursions, and why?
N: Hiking in Petra, sight seeing in Wadi Rum and star gazing at night were my favorites.
Q: Did you try any local food or cultural experiences that you would recommend?
N: Yes, living in a camp in Wadi Rum was a nice experience. The Jordanian food was mediocre.
Q: Did you have any unique interactions with locals, guides, or fellow travelers that made your trip special?
N: The star gazer who explained things to us was nice and the people in the Wadi Rum camp.
Q: Did this trip change your perspective on the destination, travel, or life in any way?
N: It made me appreciate how pretty a dessert can be. Petra is also a must see.
Q: What was the biggest surprise you encountered during your trip to Jordan (positive or unexpected)?
N: Positive was the Petra with all its beauty and hiking trails. The food could have been better though.
Q: Looking back, what was the best part of your entire journey?
N: The group and the memories we had together discovering a new country.
Q: If you could relive one day of your trip, which day would it be and why?
N: The day we made the Royal Tomb trail hike in Petra.
Q: What would you say to someone considering this tour or destination?
N: I can only recommend it, that would be a lifetime experience.
Q: Any funny or unexpected stories from your trip you’d like to share?
N: Yes, we had a very smart boy in Petra selling us stuff in a very intriguing way, he made a sales show to sell us souvenirs. It was somehow sad to see it coming from a young boy but very interesting!
Q: Is there anything you would like to tell us about the tour and your experience?
N: It was a very nice experience and I can recommend it!
Q: Any tips or things you wish you’d known before going on a trip to Jordan?
N: Yes, Amman is cheaper for shopping than the other places!
