Introducing Georgia
While relatively small in stature, Georgia, a former Soviet republic located on the banks of the Black Sea, certainly is not short of attractions for tourism. Go on a cable car ride to Narikhala Fortress in Tbilisi before continuing to the medieval villages around Mestia. Or if you prefer to soak up the sun, head for the beach resort of Batumi. Then immerse yourself in the hiking trails of the Caucasus Mountains.
Either way, get in touch with our local travel experts today to start planning your customized Georgia tour.
When to go to Georgia
Georgia is very reliable during the summer months (June to September), although temperatures can peak at 32°C. Should it get too hot, you can always escape the coast and plains for the mountains. Spring and fall are good alternatives, but there is more rainfall at this time of year, particularly in Black Sea resort towns like Poti. Winters, on the other hand, are cold. However, wrap up warm and you can have winter wonderland scenes of Kazbegi pretty much all to yourself. Learn more.
How long to stay in Georgia
The proximity of destinations, such as Mtskheta to Tbilisi, means tailor-made tours in Georgia lasting no more than a long weekend are not out of the question. If you are looking for a deeper cultural insight, go for a one-week adventure instead. This will give you the opportunity to absorb the beauty of Svaneti and even hike across the Shkhara Glacier. However, if you can extend your sojourn to ten days, you can also do justice to Tusheti National Park, located in the country’s east. Learn more.
