Reviews of our Mongolia Tours for Fall
Feedback from guests who toured Mongolia during Fall.
Awesome trip, a unique experience. Every aspect felt special from start to finish. Bata and his support team did everything possible to give us the best Mongolian experience. A great blend of cycling, culture and freshly cooked traditional food along the way.
Thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Some of the ger camps were better than others. Didn’t like the really big, busy ones as they didn’t give the feel of really being away from it all. Understandably, some of the journeys were long but the days were broken up well by comfort/coffee/lunch stops/visits etc and I have to say our 4 drivers were magnificent. Our tour leader needed to be a bit more organised and we had to keep prompting him to be more proactive in keeping us updated and checking that the whole group were still together in busy areas. Not easy, I know, keeping a group of 15 people organised! However, he was a very pleasant and likeable chap.
This was a great trip to Mongolia, somewhere I have wanted to visit for a long time and it didn't disappoint. The trip encompassed both the steppes and the Gobi, photos of which don't seem to do the country justice! The Ger camps were great fun, and visiting the nomad families gave a fascinating insight and understanding into a completely different way of life.
Fantastic trip. We travelled (admittedly some long drives) through the flat landscapes, dodging large herds of goats and sheep as well as horses and camels. Four visits to various nomad families gave us insights into their ways of life, and we sampled fermented cows', mares', and camels' milk. We watched one family milk the mares, and rode camels near the sand dunes. Visits to Buddhist temples and museums gave us additional insights. The bronze age petroglyphs were a highlight, particularly those of tigers. The best bit was at the end of the trip, when we attended the Golden Eagle Festival. Watching men and women interact with their eagles was amazing, as were the other events, such as the tug-of-war with a goat skin.
Mongolia is a stunningly beautiful country. Miles and miles of vast open vistas, dotted with the occasional ger and nomad herds of animals. The Gobi desert was fascinating, including a visit to the place where the first dinosaur eggs were discovered! We visited many interesting and fabulous places, including several beautiful Buddhist temples. Wherever we went, the people were charming and very hospitable. The Eagle Festival was a spectacle I will never forget, with 120 eagle hunters competing to win the honour of being the champion. Dressed in their finest traditional clothing, riding their sturdy horses at speed, they called their massive golden eagles down from the rocky hillside to land on their arm.
Just returned from.this Mongolia trip. It was a wonderful holiday. Mongolia is vast and fascinating. The holiday was made more enjoyable and informative by our guide MG. The Eagle Festival was unbelievable. 120 eagle hunters with their beautiful Golden Eagles.
