Honest insights from past guests on our Active outdoor Iceland tours
I had a fantastic experience! The hikes through the untouched landscapes of Eastern Iceland were truly a highlight. Kudos to our CEO Mike, whose deep knowledge of the region and passion for hiking made the tour very enjoyable—and allowed us to experience some truly breathtaking nature. The sense of community within our group and having a “home base” in Bakkageroi made the experience even more special.
Great itinerary that allows for a better immersion into the culture by seeing major sites that Iceland is known for in a more natural and less tourist developed region. enjoyed having one hotel as a base and hiking around it. Guide had lots of stories and shared his knowledge during rest breaks on the hike making it more interesting. appreciated that the itinerary was adapted to suit the weather and group abilities, recognizing this would be very difficult to plan for. lots of fun.
I would really recommend this tour, and particularly our CEO, Mike, who made it such a memorable adventure. Great hiking in such heart breakingly beautiful scenery with plenty of interesting trips in-between. I was in a group of ten, which contained eight solo travellers, including me, who were from different parts of the world and different age groups. We had a great group and had a good laugh! I think I made memories on this trip that I will keep for a long time. Thanks to the super people in my group and our CEO (guide) Mike for making this such a great holiday!
Awesome, amazing, fantastic … a magical tour. We were very fortunate to have fine clear and sunny skies with no wind for large period of our trip. We did experience whiteouts in the mountains and a little snow. The Northern Lights were better than I hoped for. Erla our guide was superb, enthusiastic to share her knowledge and love for her country with a great itinerary. Thor our driver was also fantastic and safe as there were a few tricky days with whiteouts and ice! Highly recommend this tour. Food was tops too
Great experience! Felt like an all-included (except for alcool) resort where the main activity was hiking! Very relaxing, peaceful and enjoyable, for those who like hiking! The driving day procured a more in-dept view of Iceland and some key areas to look at.
I could write or talk about this tour for much longer than a single paragraph. In short, the tour was run extremely well. Michal had all of the details figured out and we didn't need to worry about anything. He arranged little extras for us like visiting the sheep farm to see the new lambs. His connections with the locals were evident. Between the wonderful people, the spectacular scenery, the deliciously fresh local food, and the delightful accommodations, we quickly came to appreciate this beautiful place of rugged tranquility. We will be going back!
