Honest insights from past guests on our 8-Day Bolivia tours
Hi Vera and Yuna, We are back in the US and have reflected on our fabulous trip. Thank you for a wonderful tour. We loved the program, the guide (Ava) and the hotels! We appreciate all your work, help and guidance in making this a special 60th birthday journey.
It's the first time I've done a National Geographic tour and the accommodation was at the next level compared to classic tours. Lunch on the salt flats was awesome, table, chairs, food and wine. Followed by sparkling cider for tea with snacks....G never fails to surprise me by taking it up the next level. Izzy helped me out with my on line check in, as well as a few others in the group. He is definitely deserving of being a primary CEO
Over all we really enjoyed this trip. La Palma is a bio-reserve so that once you are away from the banana and tobacco plantations around the main towns, most of the island still contains the natural vegetation. Going in May as we did, we walked all day and saw no one on the coast path other than the occasional local working in their fields. We saw more people on the Caldera and and Cumbre Vieja, but still very few. The geology, scenery and vegetation is amazing and well worth taking time over. Santa Cruz de la Palma is very pretty and worth exploring.
Well organised trip with all we needed to do some reasonably strenuous but not technically challenging walks in a mixture of coastal and volcanic terrains. The travel arrangememts, accommodation and food were all fine, and it was good not to have to move on every night to new accommodation(3 moves). The route guides were straightforward for the most part and the paths well marked. La palma is relatively unspoilt and we liked meeting almost no-one on several of the trails! Weather was fabulous.
This was a challenging trip because of the effects of high altitude. It was also worth the trouble. The Uyuni salt flats are like no other place on earth. Magical. We also got to experience the Bolivian culture and food which was fabulous. What we missed was an opportunity to bike the Death Road which we truly felt would have been a great addition to optional activities.
The trip provided excellent coverage of the Bolivia highlands. The people were very friendly and our CEO made the overall experience exceptional. The salt flats were simply magical, an experience I won’t soon forget.
