Great trip Warsaw, Vilnius, Riga & Tallinn. Tour Director and driver excellent. This was our first trip with Insight and won’t be the last.
This is a well run and wonderful trip! I felt safe the whole time and was interested in learning about how each country feels about the state of the world. The TD and driver were very professional and kind people who I shared many laughs with. Each city had a unique history and the best city to visit was Latvia. I had seen more people in the past comments complain about the lack of time in Riga and it’s true. I think making the market visit an optional would allow people to have more time in Riga. I will say that the guide of Latvia was the best one. Overall fun and great trip
It gave us a great overview of Poland and the Baltic States. Accommodations were excellent, included meals and optional meals were very good. We'd be happy to travel with tour director any time.
The long bus trips of 5 hours plus should be noted for those participating. The highlight was the Hill of Crosses, nothing like it in the world. It is not an easy trip for those unsure on their foot due to cobblestones and lots of walking. I ended up babysitting (happily) a person in their late 80s as she had difficulty keeping up with others on the walks and getting on and off the bus. There was not enough time in either Vilnuis or Riga - what seemed a gorgeous towns. Got in at 5pm, the following morning was a paid excursion or time alone - 3/4 hours was not enough before the bus left again at lunchtime.
It’s the countries themselves. They’re all too alike and too long distances to drive to see very little. Poland and Estonia were worth seeing. The Chopin concert was entertaining and so were the local musicians and dancers. The kgb prison was a stark reminder of how bad human beings can be. Estonia was a lovely city.
Lots of road time on the coach. We had a great guide. Fast moving in each of the cities.
Very intersting sights. Felt very safe & comfortable.
Everything was professionally done, from the very responsible tour leader to the local guides. The hotels were uniformly excellent and the bus and drivers were too. I have zero complaints, except for the weather!
Cities were superb. Local guides great
Good introduction to the Baltic countries but an extra couple of days would be better as some cities felt a bit rushed.
It was a bit hurried. Another day or two would have been good. My guide was exceptional. The dinners were fun.
