Visit Memphis, Natchez, and the legendary Graceland, with every detail—accommodation, meals, and transport—taken care of. The unique selling point is the rich musical journey, giving you backstage access to the South’s storied sounds. The itinerary was carefully put together and ensured that we had the opportunity to visit all of the most popular visitor attractions in each location along the route from Nashville to New Orleans. We also had plenty of free time to explore each town/city further. We chose to opt in to most of the optional extra activities and they were all well worth it. Finally, the Be My Guest experiences were highlights, as they were things that we definitely wouldn’t have been able to do if we had been traveling alone.
Our family holiday with our grown up kids was up there with the best! Heaps of activities, attractions, & fun things to do. our tour director was so knowledgeable & organised, which certainly took all the hurdles out. Would certainly recommend this tour for those with an interest in music / eating & the Deep South of the USA.
well planned, packed a lot of information on each of the places visited, the leader was very knowledgeable.
I have already rated this trip which I thoroughly enjoyed. The welcome dinner and the farewell dinners were a wonderful way to start and end! The whole trip was excellent some highlights included the show at the grand ol opry, the Nashville studios and Graceland.
It was great. A little rushed at some events and then lots of free time. Could have had more experiences in some places.
It was fun and informative. Learnt a lot about the music scene and American history. Good amount if time in each area.
The Tastes and Sounds of the South failed to deliver with respect to the 'Taste' portion of the trip. There were plenty of music studio tours, music museum tours and local musician shows, but there was next to nothing concerning the 'Tastes' of the South. This tour needs a major overhaul in order to add the Tastes of the South at each stop - Nashville, Memphis, Natchez and New Orleans. In addition, our Tour Director, was not a local expert and did not exude the 'Southern Hospitality' attitude expected from this tour type. Most of our travel group agreed that our Travel Director was one of the worst we have had. Two out of the four hotels were completely unacceptable for our level of comfort. The unacceptable hotels had extremely poor breakfast options, they were very dirty, old and well-worn and inhospitable hotel managers and staff. I would NOT recommend this tour to anyone until Trafalgar completes a huge upgrade to its Tour Director, Tastes portion of the tour and the hotel choices.
The overall holiday was very good and well hosted by . The hotels in Nashville and New Orleans were excellent. However the hotels in Memphis and Natchez were sub-standard - particularly breakfasts to the point of having to repeatedly ask for basic items such as bowls and teabags. Very few breakfast options for us to start the day’s touring and we were left feeling quite hungry. For a tour of this standard better hotels are required. The visit to Civil Rights Museum in Memphis was a bit overpowering and perhaps should have been optional.
