Itinerary

Makalu Base Camp Trek calls to those who dream of untouched wilderness and spectacular Himalayan panoramas. Towering at 8,462m, Mount Makalu is the world’s fifth-highest peak, and this route—set between Nepal and Tibet—showcases the region’s remarkable cultural and ecological diversity.

The tour package begins amid the lowland forests of Tumlingtar, following the Arun River into Makalu Barun National Park, and ascending through villages inhabited by Brahman, Rai, Gurung, and Tamang communities. Here, rare bird species and lush vegetation thrive. A highlight is the crossing of Shipton Pass at 4,500m, after which trekkers follow the Barun River to Makalu Base Camp, with awe-inspiring views of Makalu, Everest, and Lhotse.

The unique selling point of this journey is its deep sense of remoteness—perfect for trekkers seeking solitude far from the usual trails. The combination of rare wildlife, diverse cultures, and pristine alpine scenery makes this trip an exceptional adventure for those who crave the wild, unspoiled corners of the Himalayas.
