We learned so much about the Hawaiian culture, history and saw places we wouldn't have known existed if not for Insight. The trip was so much more than what we expected.
1 - Well planned itinerary & well managed by trip director. 2- But intrinsically there is not much to discover / see in the islands, apart from the beautiful beaches! 3- Things are expensive.
The tour was good and had a lot of spare time enjoy walk on beach
The itinerary was well thought out. It was at a pace that did not feel rushed. , our guide was extremely accommodating to all individuals in our group. was very personable and knowledgeable on the rich history of Hawaii.
So many new and different experiences! We learned about Pearl Harbor, native Hawaiian vegetation, coffee and pineapple production, and volcanoes. The food was delicious and the hotels were lovely. Our travel director was a local and shared so much interesting information about each island. He handled everything so capably, all I had to do was relax and have fun.
This was a nice itinerary to get introduced to each island. Three nights each in Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. We stayed at very nice resorts. We ate in nice restaurants and the food was plentiful. Our tour guide was terrific and we learned so much about the islands. There was a nice balance of excursions and free time.
The itinerary was great over all 3 islands with enough "own time" in the mix to make for a great holiday.
For anyone who has not been to Hawaii, just do. My suggestion if you use this tour group, arrive the day before Aston or miss the first day of the trip. We had an 11 hour flight and had a 3 hour delay so we didn’t get to our Oahu hotel till 8ish pm. We missed the hello dinner. We don’t travel much so we were surprised by some of the expense not known till just before we left. Tipping is a big part of the tour, for the tour director and the bus drivers that bring you to the visited destinations. We were told to pack our bags, then take half of the clothes out and double the cash you were going to bring. That is definitely the truth. Because we don’t travel a lot, I was happy going to Hawaii with a tour group because you don’t have to think about setting a schedule. It’s all done for you. So if you’ve been thinking about traveling to Hawaii or somewhere else, go for it. Just book it.
We loved everything about this trip! First of all, our travel leader, was amazing! He was so knowledgeable of the islands. He was a great leader of our group! The itinerary was perfect. We saw so much but still had time to relax or explore on our own. Our resorts were simply beautiful! I would highly recommend Insight Vacations. This was our third trip with them.
I was disappointed in our room at the Hilton Waikoloa Village. It was old and it was dirty. Some people in our group got newly updated rooms. We did not. The bathroom fixtures had not been throughly cleaned, the phone was so dirty I could not read the numbers plus it kept saying we had a message (flashing red light) but we did not and the sliding glass door to the lai was dirty. Overall the room was not acceptable. I did not like the tram. We often gave up waiting for it and walked to the other places.
We loved our trip. The hotels were amazing. A volcano was spilling out steam on the big island. The pineapple plantation was incredible on Maui. Oahu has Pearl Harbor and that is a must see.
It was an incredible mix of history, ecology, culture, sand & surf! And great weather, too. The people on this trip were friendly and supportive of a solo traveler.
The itinerary had places that we would not know about or think about going to. They were very interesting.
The representatives at the sites we saw/toured were very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions and share history and processes. When we didnt have a special speaker the tour guide was able to share so much history and interesting ffacts about the islands. The time seem to go too fast some times it was so interesting.
