Itinerary
Step back in time on the 'Cycling in Albania' tour, an eight-day bicycle adventure crafted for experienced travelers ready for a challenging ride. Begin on the Macedonian border in Pogradec, then pedal through pristine snow-capped mountains, rural valleys, and historic villages, all while experiencing Albania’s signature warmth and hospitality. The journey winds past the ancient town of Gjirokastra, the UNESCO-listed ruins of Butrint, and the lush vistas of Llogara National Park before culminating with relaxation by the sea in Vlore. With its demanding terrain and rewarding landscapes, this trip’s unique draw is the rare opportunity to uncover Europe’s lesser-known beauty—Albania’s dramatic scenery and genuine local culture—by bike.
day 1Adventure begins in Pogradec
We start in Pogradec, at our hotel on the shore of Lake Ohrid. The afternoon is free to relax and enjoy this lakeside location.
Around 6pm say hello to your tour leader and fellow travellers at our hotel, where we gather as a group for the first time to get to know each other and learn more about the adventures ahead. Your tour leader then ensures a big welcome by arranging a group dinner.

The Best!
This was my 12th Exodus cycling trip and this was one of the most fantastic! The countryside and mountains are among the most beautiful in Europe. Our group leader was outstanding, taking care of our many different needs and organising some of the best meals we've had. Brilliant cycling on amazing roads, guided by the best leader, Armando
Best Cycling trip ever
We had the best guide I've ever encountered. His name is Armand and he is the most ressourceful/knowledgeable guide I've ever seen. The driver Arsene was also super friendly and professionnal. It's not for the faint of heart because there is a LOT of elevation but for anyone decently fit it is qui pleasurable. We had the most amazing views everywhere we went and everything was well planned out and smooth.
Great guiding- Fantastic country to visit
I loved my trip. Both the guide Andrea and driver Tani were helpful, kind and knowledgeable. Despite being henpecked by the other ladies in the group he stayed calm polite and helpful. The route was tough but doable and lots of stops along the way. It's a gorgeous country and I was happy to see it before it gets over touristed.
Cycling beautiful Albania
This was a wonderful trip with a great group and the leaders were fantastic. Demitri managed the tour in a way that all participants were able to navigae within their personal athletic abilities without being deterred by others. He provided great instructions, organization and historical background. Visi was wonderful in his supportive role. What a special country that is still unspoiled by over development and excess tourism. The people and the land were special and I feel so fortunate to have explored this country and to do it by bike.
Briliant Guide and Support
An incredible trip with great people across beautiful scenery, in particular the mountain areas. Dhimitri our guide was fantastic (very good dry sense of humour) and Visi provided excellent vehicle/ logitics support. Literally, I cannot think of one thing to fault either of them, their organisational skills were 1st class.
