Experience all the highlights of the Low Countries on this Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg trip. Buzzing capitals, quaint merchant towns and lush countryside are the backdrop to the fascinating stories of these nations.
There should not have been optional tours so close to the start where there was not enough time to arrange other options, for those time frames, for those who did not want to pay extra. Loved the tours myself.
Excellent itinerary. All places were highlights of this area.
Great itinerary! We saw many high points of each country but still had free time to explore on our own.
1. Travel Director was the best one Iβve travelled within all of my Trafalgar Trips Her Caring for us passengers was on a level which I thought was way better her remit Her Knowledge of the countries, cities and towns that we travelled through was excellent It was good yo have two day stops in each city Local tours were very good and the local guides chosen yo take us around was very good Tour driver was excellent and coach was very modern and comfortable All in all a great holiday made better by our guide Ilja
This tour was very enjoyable. Staying at each destination for two or more days was a lot easier than having to pack up every night. Locations we visited were more varied than other Trafalgar tours Iβve taken which was also appreciated. I especially enjoyed the canal boat rides and the beautiful bridges and flowers. But the best part of our tour was our tour director . She went out of her way to make each and every guest feel comfortable and welcomed. She accommodated individual needs with grace and humour which helped make this trip a lovely experience. Sheβs a Trafalgar gem and will be a tough, tough act to follow!! Would love to travel with her again anytime!
These are very interesting, advanced and progressive countries with rich histories that are a part of American history too.
The itinerary included history and important facts concerning where we where. The specialist tour guides were all very knowledgable and pleasant. They made each site interesting. There was also fun things to do at many sites. The trip was well balanced snd the people involved were great.
The activities on the last day was a bit heavy due to people early traveling home or other destinations on the next day. They should either have been spread out a bit or scheduled them a day or two before.
Brussels, Bruges, Luxembourg, Bastogne, Maastricht, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam were interesting. There was not much to see in Ghent or Trier. The Ypres Excursion and Last Post Ceremony were a waste of time and money. The Muiderslot Castle in Amsterdam was disappointing.
We were delighted with our Tour Director who is passionate about travel and who imparted his many pearls of wisdom along the way, as well as expertly organising the various stops and meeting points and entertaining us with anecdotes and personal insights. He was always helpful and considerate towards the travellers in our group, making the whole experience very pleasant and memorable. Full credit also to the excellent and approachable local guides who provided us with comprehensive and clear explanations about the places and things they were showing us, often with a touch of humour or irony, answering any questions competently. Thanks are also due to our driver for his talent at maneuvering the bus in and out of some at times very tight spots and for always being in a good mood and delivering us safely to our destination. .
Too many extra optional expenses. On day 1 if you did not purchase an optional trip there was nothing planned for those who did not go. It was a Sunday in Brussels, so it much to see. Not a great start to the trip. Of included meals 2 were very poor Included tours and guides were good, accommodation was great. Our guide improved as the trip went on. Seemed distracted at the start of the trip but was knowledgeable and friendly. Bus driver was excellent.
Didn't always follow what the brochure said. Not enough included tours, too many pay extra ones.
Great trip, overall. I would have liked to have more time at some of the stops. Food service is slow in most places, and it felt like we only had time to get food and use the toilets. Would have been nice to have more time to explore and shop.
Belgium is a hidden gem!
The planned excursions were lukewarm. I was not impressed by most of them. I liked eating with an authentic family from Amsterdam, but did not like eating next to the smell of cow manure.
This was a great tour for me to end my trip after completing some other tours. Belgium was a beautiful surprise for me. It has so many World Heritage cities to see. Belgium has a rich history especially in regard to the Battle of Waterloo to the World Wars. It balances the modern world of NATO and EU Headquarters with the old town of Brussels. I must say, it does have the best chocolate in the world after doing some serious taste testing! Luxembourg is beautiful and regal whilst Holland has the beauty of windmills, farms, canals and beautiful art in one of the worldβs most famous art galleries. The tour is at a good pace with all stays are for 2 nights at a time. A tour worth taking!
Started out in Brussels.. Ended up in Amsterdam.. The trip was a total success π Tour group was Amazing and bus driver was a total Gem and tour Director was the best I had ever seen!!! Funny..helpful...and full of knowledge ππππ I didn't hear anyone complaining at all.
The tour guide - was amazing. He kept the tour very funny and on time. He made some changes to the agenda that were positive for the tour. We had plenty of stops during the tour and the visits were all coordinated.
It is the right amount of structured time and free time. Plenty of optional excursions to choose from. Most of the hotels were conveniently located.
