What we saw and what we did led by our expert guide was very special. It was the sheer variety of the experiences. The stand out being the walk up to the Tigers Nest Monastery. But for me the walks we did through villages where we saw real life going on was just as special.
Bhutan is a special place, full of wonderful people, surrounded by amazing scenery. Accommodation there was of a very high standard. The icing on thd cake was seeing Mt Everest as we flew to Kathmandu.

Timed to coincide with the Saga Dawa Festival - Tibet’s most important annual celebration, our journey reaches Mount Kailash at its most atmospheric. Pilgrims gather from across the region to honour the birth, enlightenment and death of Buddha, creating a rare spectacle of prayer, ritual and celebration.
We then join the sacred kora - a three-day walk around the base of Mount Kailash - alongside Tibetan pilgrims. Though not technically demanding, the high altitude and spiritual weight of the journey make it one of the world’s most unforgettable circuits. Bhutan is an immensely beautiful country and this trip really does cover the essence of it. You will get to see beautiful views of Himalaya mountains, you will visit a number of unique monasteries, historical fortresses and natural sights. The sequence of the visited places is well chosen, with the hiking trip to the Tiger´s nest the day before your departure. A cap is a must and some prior hiking training is an advantage. The food was very fine, with the hosts able to prepare a vegetarian option. Guide and driver both excellent. This really has been, without exaggeration, one of our best holiday trips. People were friendly, hospitable and the places we visited were magical, with no, or only a very few tourists.
