This is an absolutely incredible tour -- our guide Jason was both very informative and very helpful. He explained the history of the Arenal volcano to us, we took a short hike a small part of the way up the mountain, and then went back down to look at wildlife in the rainforest. We saw spider monkeys, which Jason said are a pretty rare sight, and then a red curacao just walked out onto the trail in front of us! It was an incredible feeling to just be seeing all these animals spontaneously on a nature hike.
Speaking of hikes, it is important to be aware that this tour is somewhat physically demanding. There are no extreme parts, just some strenuous walking over very uneven ground, but I think the tour description could do a better job of emphasizing the challenge. At the same time, the tour is extremely convenient in terms of picking you up and dropping you off at your desired location, whether a hotel, hot springs, or somewhere else. Overall, I strongly recommend the Arenal Volcano trip to anyone who is into volcanoes and wildlife and plans to visit the Arenal area.

Join us on this 4-hour tour if you want to take advantage of a Costa Rican night and discover some of the country’s nocturnal wonders. Start your trip from the small town of La Tigra, located just 30 minutes from La Fortuna. Here, you will meet the Mendez Family, a local family dedicated to farming and reforesting their patch of land.
Travel 600 meters (0.37 miles) from the family land to a small patch of regenerated rainforest. See the mirror-like lakes and wildlife in the area. You can expect to see a variety of nocturnal birds and mammals, insects, amphibians, bats, and more in this reforested area.
The trail will then take you to a frog sanctuary, an area dedicated to the preservation and natural reproduction of frog species. Here you will discover countless species of frogs, including dart and bull frogs, the smallest and largest species of frogs in Costa Rica.
Also see the spectacular Red-eyed tree frog and the beautiful Glass frog. A delicious Costa Rican dinner prepared on a wood-fire stove will be waiting for you by the time the tour is over. Enjoy your dinner while viewing the lights of the valleys of San Carlos. Return to your hotel in La Fortuna.

This combination tour is perfect for visitors to La Fortuna who want to do it all but have limited time. With this one-day tour, you can visit the most important attractions in the area.
The incredible Arenal Volcano is not to be missed, so we start the adventure at the Arenal Volcano National Park to hike a 4 km (2.5 miles) trail called “Lava Slides of 1992” which will take us as close to the mighty Arenal as possible, without risking your safety. From there, if the skies are clear, the views of Arenal Lake, the forest, and the areas devastated by previous eruptions will be impressive.
At around 11:30, we will arrive at the second place of interest, La Fortuna Waterfall, famous for its height of 70 meters (230 feet). There you can take a refreshing swim in the cool waters or take pictures of its beauty. Afterwards, at around 1:00 pm we will stop at a restaurant near downtown La Fortuna for a delicious a la carte lunch with 5 options to choose from.
Later, at 2:30 pm, we will head to the Arenal Hanging Bridges, to hike a 3.1 km (1.92 miles) trail circuit high above the tree canopy, and across a circuit of 15 impressive hanging and stationary bridges trying to spot the local wildlife.
At the end of this full-day tour, we’ll drive you back to your hotel.

There is no greater attraction in the Northern region of Costa Rica than the Arenal Volcano. So why not enjoy it in the most picturesque way possible? This tour combines an attractive boat ride on Arenal Lake followed by a hike through the national park where the volcano is located and provides you with impressive views of this natural wonder.
The tour begins with a short, 20-minute ride to the peninsula sector of Arenal Volcano National Park near Arenal Lake. Walk around 1.5km (nearly 1 mile) through a trail in the national park.
During the whole trip, you will be able to enjoy excellent views of Arenal Lake and the Tilaran Volcanic Mountains from different observation bays that are along the trail. At the end of the trail, you will have the opportunity to climb to an observation platform approximately 10m high to take a closer look at the volcano. Learn more about the history, activities and geological formation of this colossal natural wonder.
Enjoy a fresh, tropical fruit buffet lunch at the end of your trail before taking a boat for a ride along the edges of Arenal Lake. See the surrounding rainforest, islands, aquatic birds and animals that call this area their home. This is the best possible place to take incredible pictures of the Arenal Volcano, if the weather permits. After 45 minutes on the boat, head for the lake's boat station.

Get up close and personal with the nightlife in San Jose, starting with the Central Market, which, in our opinion, is the only way to learn about the city’s food (aside from eating it, which we’ll get to!). Stroll the market with your local guide and get to know the secrets and uses of the roots, herbs, and fruit common in local cuisines, including ingredients that will play a role in your authentic Costa Rican dinner later. The locals say that you can get anything you need at the Central Market, even love potions for attracting a boyfriend or girlfriend…wink.
After the market, we’ll make our way down Central Avenue, enjoying a trip down San Jose’s memory lane, learning about the city’s history and anecdotes, as well as visiting one of the most architecturally beautiful buildings in San Jose, the National Theatre.
From there, our appreciation for San Jose’s historical architecture continues, with a walk through Morazan Park to enjoy the Metallic Building, then on to Spain Park for a fantastic view of the Yellow House (now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
We’ll continue to charming Barrio Amon, one the oldest neighborhoods in San Jose. Designed by Amon Fasileau, a Frenchman who settled in the area, it has become one of the most scenic parts of the city, boasting a rich, architectural history.
We’ll be spending the rest of the evening at a favorite local restaurant that specializes in wine and gourmet food.

Join us on this day tour to explore one of the lesser-known highlights of Costa Rica, Tenorio Volcano National Park, home to cascading waterfalls and turquoise pools. We will pick you up from your accommodation in La Fortuna and drive you to the national park.
Enjoy hiking on the national park's seven-kilometre-long trail and encounter enchanting sights along the way, starting with the magical Rio Celeste Waterfall and a beautiful natural lagoon formed by a river. Hike up to the observation deck from where you can enjoy amazing views of the Tenorio Volcano.
Next come two unbelievable attractions: Las Ollas, where you can see fumaroles filled with boiling mud, and Los Teñideros, the place where the river acquires it unique color due to a chemical reaction. It's time to enjoy your lunch after you have seen both these highlights. We will drive you to your accommodation after that.
