Join us on this guided, 5-day tour of Sierra Nevada del Cocuy Chita o Guican National Natural Park, a trekker's dream located in the easternmost part of the Colombian Andes, and get the chance to see stunning sights of magnificent mountains, towering rock faces and crystalline lakes along the way.
Trek through some of the most spectacular areas of El Cocuy and carry out a comprehensive, south-to-north tour of the mountain range. See El Cocuy's most impressive peaks, including Pan de Azucar, El Pulpito del Diablo and Ritacuba Blanco, and encounter a variety of environments. Walk through rich valleys full of exotic plants and streaked by streams and waterfalls, past barren but beautiful moraines that are dotted by glacial lakes, and along the base of towering mountains that are perennially covered in ice and snow.
Starting from the town of El Cocuy, this trek will take you through Lagunillas, an area with small lakes surrounded by mountains, and Laguna Grande de la Sierra before coming to an end in El Cocuy. It includes three long hiking days of 7 to 8 hours each and two nights spent in charming mountain cabins where the air is thin and the blankets are thick. This was a perfect trip for those who want to get out of Santiago and step into nature for the day. The valley was beautiful and the hike was perfect, not too difficult. The picnic at the end of the hike was the cherry on top of this tour.

This is a very complete excursion that combines coastal kayaking with a nature trek in the forest. From Camping Wiritray, owned by Native Mapuche Community, we start paddling towards Playa Leones, one of the most beautiful beaches of the National Park. Then we go on a nature oriented trek through the forest until Lagoon Yum. Back in Playa Leones we'll have lunch and some time to relax before kayaking back to the starting point
Grab this opportunity to visit to some of the most spectacular lagoons in Costa Rica during a one-day tour. Leave La Fortuna at around 7:30 am and drive for 1.5 hours through the plains of San Carlos, located on the outskirts of Juan Castro Blanco National Park, until you reach the Hule Lagoon. On arrival, prepare for your hike to the volcanic lagoons. Start your journey through the pastures that border the forest of the volcanic caldera where the Hule Lagoon is located.
Popularly referred to as the Hule Lagoon, this beautiful lagoon is spread over an area of 55 hectares (136 acres) and is located at the base of the Cerro Congo Volcano, 11 km (6.83 miles) away from the famous Poas Volcano. This area is renowned for its excellent trekking trails due to the variety of sceneries and terrain it offers, ranging from clay to dirt, volcanic rocks and grasslands.
Travel through a rainforest during your descent. Enjoy incredible views of primary and secondary lagoons along your way. Along the 8 km (5 miles) circuit trail, you will visit 2 of the 3 most important lagoons of the area, ranging from 15 to 55 hectares in surface area.
After this amazing and intense 3-4 hour hike, you will arrive at the main observation point, where you can savor a delicious, traditional Costa Rican lunch.

We had a fabulous nine-day tour, including the two day Inca experience, Inca trail/Machu Picchu, and Rainbow Mountain. John, our contact, met us at the airport and helped us generally acclimate to the new culture.
We cannot praise Adolfo, our guide, enough for his knowledge, experience, and attentiveness to our needs. He was so fun to be with. Our driver, Edgar, was excellent. All over, a fantastic adventure.
