After an early morning departure from Cusco, we will drive to the town of Soraypampa and begin our trek to Humantay Lake, located at 4,300 meters. En route, we will make a brief stop at Tarawasi archaelogical site to explore Inca ruins. Once at the lake, guests will have time for photography and to explore the surrounding area. We will then make our way back down the mountain for a gourmet box lunch prior to our departure from this serene landscape. After lunch, we will drive back through the Andes to Quillarumiyoc, an archaeological site where the Incans made ceremonies to worship the moon. The literal translation of the name means “the place of the moon rock”. The site itself showplaces waterways, terraces, petroglyphs and a huge rock with a semicircular cut in the shape of a crescent moon. Quillarumiyoc is a little-known site seldom frequented by tourists but is an incredibly interesting site to view. Start your tour with a pickup from your hotel at around 7:00 am. Leave Cusco city for the archeo–astronomical centre of Killarumiyoq, located in Anta. Head for the town of Limatambo after a guided visit of the centre and continue towards the department of Apurímac. Visit Tarawasi, which has one of the few remaining Andean cult structures. After that, it is time for lunch. On the road again, we will arrive at the Huayronka Bridge and take a detour to Chonta. You will soon reach the area with three condor viewpoints.
