The trip begins with a three-day trip to the exotic canals of Tortuguero National Park on the Caribbean coast, the key nesting ground for endangered sea turtles between the months of July and October. The rivers within the park are also home to sensitive populations of manatees as well as caimans, crocodiles and tropical gar, which is considered a living fossil. Initially, I was reluctant to visit Iguazu as I thought its just another waterfall, but when I saw the beauty of this waterfall I was speechless. You have to visit this place to experience the beauty and enormity. The Macuco safari & boat trip to under the waterfall I am not going to forget ever. Since I was unable to visit the Argentina side of the waterfall, I was able to spend the day at the Itaipu Dam and also the 3 fronteiras (borders). What a memorable trip.
