Cindy showed us showed us all of Suzhou and it's surrounding cultural highlights and hidden areas with charm, care and class while balancing just the right amount of information. Highly recommended!!!
In Shanghai, you will see skyscrapers and the Bund, but Shanghai has more to offer. Try Cindy's tour and immerse yourself in cultural quirks like stories about cricket fighting, common people's housings that contrast the skyscrapers, and a tour through the cultural rich Confucius-Temple. While at it, you will eat tremendous, delicious food and receive a memorable tea ceremony. Highly recommended if you want to experience a different Shanghai. Thank you Cindy!
Join this private 7-hour shore excursion tour from the cruise port to see the top city attractions including The Bund, Shanghai Tower, Yu garden, The Old French Concession, plus the ancient, picturesque Zhujiajiao water village.
The Bund is a famed area of Shanghai’s waterfront that is a showcase of pre-1949 architecture. This iconic symbol of old and new Shanghai is the city’s most famous landmark.
Shanghai Tower is one of the tallest buildings in the world and has a twisting silhouette that dominates the skyline. Standing 137 stories and 2,073 feet (632 meters) high, the building features some of the world’s fastest elevators, which race to a viewing platform 1,841 feet (561 meters) above the city. If you’d like to go inside, you can purchase entry tickets or enjoy looking at the building from the outside for free.
Yu Garden, in the middle of the Old Town (Nanshi) Shanghai, is one of China’s best-preserved classical gardens and dates from the Ming Dynasty. The garden is known for its beautiful scenery, elegant layout, and delightful pavilions, pagodas, pools, bridges, and rockeries. Entrance tickets inclusive.
The Old French Concession is known for its tree-lined streets and interesting mix of Chinese and Western architectural styles. Popular with locals, expats, and visitors, the area is home to a number of top attractions, as well as hip cafés, restaurants, bars, clubs, etc.
Zhujiajiao, which is known as “Venice of the East” is our final destination and is the best preserved of the four ancient water towns in the Shanghai area. With a history dating back over 1,700 years, Zhujiajiao is full of lovely canals and waterways. You will have the chance to experience this unique ancient water town by canal boat.
At the end of the tour, your tour guide will take you back to your hotel.
8:30: Pick-up
At the appointed time, meet your guide at the hotel lobby, who will get you on a luxury car to meet your fellow travelers and to our first destination.
Stop 1: Stele Forest 1.5h
Here, appreciate nationally-treasured ancient stone slabs carved with Chinese calligraphy and philosophies and listen to the story behind every stele. Your guide will also illustrate to you the architectural aesthetics, as the museum is housed in a carefully-designed temple that once worshiped Confucius.
Stop 2: Banpo Museum 2h
Then, let’s go far, far back to prehistoric China at Banpo Museum, which is based on the site of a typical matrilineal clan village from the Neolithic era of 6,000 years ago. There are also many potteries with the same motifs and with your guide’s explanation, you will see into the aesthetic taste and wild imagination of the Chinese ancestors.
Stop 3: Yongxingfang Food Street for Lunch Break 1.5h
At noon, we will take you to the Yongxingfang Food Street, literally “the lane of eternal prosperity”, and leave you a lunch break at your own expense.
Stop 4: Great Mosque 1.5h
We will then take a dip in the Muslim Bazaar and then escape the secular hustle and bustle to the Great Mosque. The mosque is not of the typical Islamic style you normally expect; instead, you will see a beautiful architectural complex reminiscent of classical traditional gardens with ornate carvings.
Last Stop: Bell Tower 1.5h
Go on to admire the Bell Tower that sits at the heart of Xian. As the Ming-era (1368 - 1644) heritage and the most magnificent of its kind in China, it radiates a pride among the modern landscape that beckons you to capture. We will also visit the interior and climb the tower to discover Chinese aesthetics through architectural details.
After the visit, you can either choose to be escorted back to your hotel or ask for insider advice from your guide on evening activities. Maybe linger awhile to see the Bell Tower lit all over in the evening. Take care!

Within hours of meeting your group, you'll be whisked up Victoria Peak to witness a breathtaking sunset over one of the world's most spectacular skylines, followed by the dazzling Symphony of Light show. From this modern marvel, you’ll journey by high-speed train to the tranquil, mountain-ringed beauty of Yangshuo. Here, the pace slows down for a few days of adventure, where you can cycle through karst peaks, kayak along the Li River, and cruise on a bamboo raft for those iconic, picture-perfect views.
The journey continues inland, weaving together ancient history with vibrant local life. In Chongqing, you'll take a cruise on the magnificent Yangtze River and witness the futuristic glow of the Hongya Cave complex. The cultural deep-dive continues in Chengdu, where you'll have an unforgettable encounter with Giant Pandas at the world's leading research centre and get a taste for local life with an included Mandarin lesson. After an optional fiery hot pot experience, you'll travel to Xi’an, the ancient gateway of the Silk Road. Here, prepare to be awestruck by the sheer scale of the Terracotta Warriors and spend an evening exploring the vibrant, historic Muslim Quarter.
Your final leg is packed with once-in-a-lifetime experiences. You'll dedicate a day to the legendary martial arts, taking a Kung Fu lesson led by a master from the Shaolin Temple itself. This builds up to the undisputed highlight: an unforgettable night spent camping on the magnificent Great Wall of China (seasonal guesthouse stay applies), waking up to a breathtaking sunrise over one of the Wonders of the World. The tour culminates in the imperial capital, Beijing, where you’ll wander through the vast Forbidden City, visit the Temple of Heaven, and explore the traditional hutong alleyways.
