The locals say that you can get anything you need at the Central Market, even love potions for attracting a boyfriend or girlfriend…wink. After the market, we’ll make our way down Central Avenue, enjoying a trip down San Jose’s memory lane, learning about the city’s history and anecdotes, as well as visiting one of the most architecturally beautiful buildings in San Jose, the National Theatre. From there, our appreciation for San Jose’s historical architecture continues, with a walk through Morazan Park to enjoy the Metallic Building, then on to Spain Park for a fantastic view of the Yellow House (now the Ministry of Foreign Affairs). We’ll continue to charming Barrio Amon, one the oldest neighborhoods in San Jose. Designed by Amon Fasileau, a Frenchman who settled in the area, it has become one of the most scenic parts of the city, boasting a rich, architectural history. We’ll be spending the rest of the evening at a favorite local restaurant that specializes in wine and gourmet food.

Highlights of Costa Rica was an excellent trip, it packed in many sites and activities. I was a little apprehensive about the float trip but it was slow and gentle and allowed us to get a unique view from the river. The guide was excellent and pointed out lots of aniand birds. The rain and cloud forests didn't disappoint and I thoroughly enjoyed the fast paced trip.

We just returned from the Costa Rica Eco-Adventure (2/1/2025-2/8/2025). This was our sixth Trafalgar trip. was a WONDERFUL tour guide. Very knowledgeable and personable. worked very hard; it was much appreciated! It was a great tour! A couple of things we noticed on this trip, that were different than previous Trafalgar trips . . . We prepaid our gratuities (as we always do). Usually, the tour guide talks about the ability to tip the guides and drivers, and thanks those who have already paid the gratuity. This didn't happen on this trip. We hope he received our prepaid gratuity! Also, on previous trips, it was noted if you had been a previous Trafalgar traveler. This did not happen on this trip. We are proud Trafalgar trip repeaters, which makes us some of your greatest advertisers. One suggestion we had: For our farewell dinner, we went to a restaurant where we could order off the menu. There were 42 of us. It took probably two hours to get our food. It would be better to limit the menu to a couple of appetizers, salads, main entrees and desserts, to make the evening not as long. Thanks again for a wonderful experience. We will be back to travel with Trafalgar again!

We booked this tour last minute and really enjoyed the selected destinations. This tour offers quite a diverse variety of Costa Rica's must-sees. We liked almost all of the accommodations besides Rana Roja in Tortugero. Overall everything was well organized and worked out without any problems. However we would have loved to have a little bit more information e.g. are we travelling with a group or not, all pickup times, tour details, add on tours or services and were a little bit disappointed that our group consisted only of the two of us. If you are not a good planner and or you want to save planning time and you are not on a budget, we would recommend this tour.
