The tour leader went out of his way to make sure we made the most of the time.His knowledge of the flora/fauna birds etc.really helped He added extra activities and fun -- street food, chocolate factory, purple ice cream,walks in the forest and the driver took us everywhere.I would definitely use this leader and the company organisation was perfect.The hotels were very good although I was cold in the first hotel and asked twice for blankets and was brushed off but it was well situated

Accommodations were more than sufficient, but most hotels did not have air conditioning. This wasn't an issue for us as the temperatures cooled down quite a bit at night. With choosing the optional experiences, the itinerary was quite full each day, with downtime only after dinner. We wanted to have full days of exploring so this was great for us, but for those wanting a more laid back tour, this is also possible by booking less of the optional tours.

Interesting trip, full of culture, beautiful scenery, volcanoes and lakes. Learning about the Mayan people. Difficult obtaining a visa for Honduras. The Mayan ruins & the village of Copan was interesting but not sure it’s worth the hassle with the visa! Our guide Miguel was excellent.

This trip was amazing. It far exceeded my expectations; everything was well organised, ran smoothly and I was looked after very well. I travelled on my own to join the group and was met at the airport by our tour guide for the duration, Allan. I cannot thank Allan enough for his kindness, consideration, effort, and absolute excellence as a tour guide. The holiday wouldn’t have been the same without his expertise, knowledge, and enthusiasm for his country and its wildlife. He went out of his way to assist each of us in the group, was very welcoming, helpful and he went above and beyond to make it the most memorable experience. Gustavo was our driver for the entire trip and again, he was brilliant. Very friendly, helpful, ensured everything ran smoothly and I felt very safe with him at the wheel. Thank you so so much Allan and Gustavo. For me, the itinerary was a perfect balance between being busy, with something to look forward to each and every day, with some downtime to relax so it didn’t feel too hectic. I got to see lots of amazing wildlife including birds, sloths, a tapir, coatimundi, monkeys, snakes, spiders, frogs, Iguanas, crocs and more. I loved Costa Rica. The people were friendly, I was lucky enough to join a lovely group of people on the tour and I would definitely recommend it. This was my first trip with Explore and I shall be booking with them again.

It was a great trip and we covered a lot of ground! It was my 4th visit to Costa Rica and my first with Trafalgar. We had a great guide in Yader and were well taken care of. Overall very satisfied and would recommend to other travellers. Minor observations - we had four local talks which were well done and very interesting, but were too long, over an hour each. Usually after a long bus ride. People were tired and had been sitting for a long time. Would suggest making them shorter and perhaps over a meal. Also surprised that not all the meals were included, not a big deal but thought it was all inclusive. Also apparently not all the tips were included either, I had paid tips in advance. Well organized and fun and highly recommended!

This trip was great. It covers a lot, so expect some long drives. Our guide Miguel did a great job, talking about each country with passion and helping out to solve any personal request or issue. Also he was good at finding restaurants. The itinerary is well put together, allthough sometimes you feel you only scratch the surface of a particular country. Border crossings went very well. Swift and professional. Only entering Costa Rica it took an hour. You will get plenty of stamps! Unfortunately we missed an Easter parade in Antigua by one day - I find Explore could have planned differently. Lucklily we also missed the vulcano eruption in Antigua by one day. Our group were 12 people, mostly from the UK - good conversations and interacting between everyone. All in all a great trip that will give a taste of Central America.
