We need a word to describe this trip: When you have expectations, images, and ideas. We loved the trip but the packing list was not correct. I packed shampoo and stuff that the resorts provided which wasted room and weight in my luggage. Also there was no need for water purification tablets. We didn't need a whistle or an outlet adapter so I would take these off the list since they take up space in the luggage. A poncho is a must. Everyone we worked with was very professional and positive

This was an extremely enjoyable tour. It could be improved with a little re-jig to the itinerary as there was a lot of time spent travelling and 2 nights in La Fortuna were not needed when we had been in a much nicer environment the night before in Sarapiqui. Too much time at the start was spent in San Jose and we just wanted to get out of the city and start seeing wildlife, we could have gone back to San Jose st the end of the tour ready to be available for flights as the journey from Manuel Antonio was unwelcome on the day of the flight. That said, the tour was great and we saw some amazing wildlife; especially in San Gerardo de Dota which was just stunning. The optional trips were also good and varied to all tastes. Apart from the hotel in La Fortuna all accommodation was excellent and the tour guide was helpful and knowledgeable.

The trip really packed in some iconic elements of Costa Rica, and lived up to its name in terms of seeing the highlights. It was great to experience the contrast of the Caribbean lowlands, rain forest and the pacific coast. And seeing the abundance of wildlife was incredible, as well as the delicious local dishes and wonderful people we me along the way. The guide was great, really personable and had good knowledge and a keen sense to show us as much as possible, often stopping en route when he had spied interesting animals from the van. The Manuel Antonio and the La Fortuna accommodation was great. The Authentico hotel was fine for passing through but we had paid for an additional night in San Jose, and for this purpose the hotel wasn’t in the best of locations as it was on the edge of the city with not much around in terms of restaurants so we felt a bit stuck in the hotel at the end.
