The AP mini circuit has to be considered as a viable alternative to the full circuit(which I have not done) - if you have a fortnight and are confident of your trekking abilities, you will get all the thrill of the trek up the Valley and over the 5416m pass , a descent through the incredible Mustang valley on the other side followed by a memorable flight past the AP range back to Pokhara .

We had awesome trek to see Gurung community with the help of Sujan and the local operator. We managed historic hill trek to Siklis still retains an aura of old times. Historically, Siklis is renowned as one of the major origin places of Gurung Community. Here, we find the various ritual practices of Gurungs especially the works of Jhankri (shaman) and Lama (priest), who have important roles in marriage, death and day-to-day lives. Traditional technologies like alcohol fermentation, weaving clothes and sacks from the wild nettle, weaving various bamboo products, traditional water mills and stone grinders, wooden threshers etc are also the important features of Siklis. In this region we spot Nepals birds of prey including the 9ft wingspan Lammergeyer. The region is rich in flora and fauna particularly birds and butterfly because of its pristine forested surroundings and the great mountain views add an excitement. The experience was just awesome. While circling the Annapurna massif, we get to triumph over one of the world's highest pass -Thorong La (5,416m/17,769ft), enjoy the dry yet beautiful landscape of the Manang valley and tour Muktinath, a place of high spiritual importance for the Nepalese (both Hindus and Buddhists). After our trek, we'll take a mountain flight from Jomsom to Pokhara before driving back to Kathmandu.

Day 1-2: Welcome to Kathmandu and Exciting Drive to Pokhara

The Mardi Himal Trek in the Annapurna region is a perfect option for travelers looking for a new trekking adventure! This trek route has it all: diversity in the atmosphere, cultural highlights and great views of Annapurna Himalayas. Although the route officially opened only less than five years ago, it has received very positive reviews from trekkers. Comparatively short to other Himalayan treks, on this route, we will visit forests, base camps, and local tea houses where we will find overnight accommodation.
The trek begins from scenic Pokhara lake city, where we will drive to Kande, the starting point of our hike. From there onwards immerse into beautiful walks along the culturally rich Gurung villages. During the spring season, enjoy beautiful views of rhododendrons that bloom perfectly which can be just another reason to embark on this adventure.
Stay at forest camp, low camp and high camp, where you can capture the best of sunrise and sunset views of Mardi Himal, Fishtail, and other surrounding peaks. We’ll arrive at the western side of Mardi Himal base camp, which is located at an elevation of 4500m, after which we hike back to Pokhara and finally to Kathmandu, concluding our Mardi Himal Trek.

Langtang's short trek to Kyangin Ri hiking route lies insight into the Langtang National Park, which is one of the most beautiful and least tourist short mountain treks in Nepal.
