Jordan has been on my bucket list for a long time and this trip ticked all my boxes! It was eye-opening as we visited all the UNESCO sites of Jordan and visiting the castles, church ruins and learning about the influence from the Bronze Age, Roman, Byzantine and Umayya. The preserved Mosaics were a highlight too! Despite what is going on in neighbouring countries, we felt very safe. Sadly, due to the ongoing conflict is having an impact on tourism and locals, so the Jordanians needs us more than ever! This did mean we had most of the sites to ourselves such as the baptism site & the Treasury!
We stayed at Mujib Chalet which meant we were away from the big hotels and was able to enjoy the Dead Sea for ourselves, and it was only a few mins walk from our chalet. The sunset here was magical! The food were delicious, everyone was catered for (veggies and meat), the humous was the best we ever tried! We also visited during the harvest of olives (happens from late Oct- early Dec) so be prepared to get fresh olives wherever you go :)

It is an historically significant and culturally rich vacation with sights not to be seen elsewhere. The people are very friendly and, contrary to popular belief, it is a safe place to visit.

Another wonderful trip with World Expeditions. In addition to the expected highlights of Petra, Wadi Rum, snorkelling in the Red Sea and floating in the Dead Sea, the unexpected delights of visiting a local family at Um Qais (and cooking/dining with them), the expansive Roman ruins at Jerash and our extraordinary driver Firas made this trip wonderful.
The small additional cost of having a representative meet us at the airport and guide us through immigration was well worth it. The process was very quick and smooth.
We would thoroughly recommend this trip.

Uncover Jordan’s treasures on this 8-day journey from Amman to the Dead Sea. Step back in time among the Roman ruins of Jerash and Umm Qais, then head south to the iconic rose-red city of Petra. Marvel at the vast desert landscapes of Wadi Rum on a thrilling 4x4 safari and explore the Crusader stronghold of Shobak Castle. If travelling between April and October, you’ll trek through the dramatic Wadi Mujib canyon before ending with two relaxing days floating in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea. It’s a perfect blend of ancient sites, natural wonders, and unforgettable scenery.
Jordan is a wonderful warm, cultural experience. The local people are passionate about their country and rightly so. There’s no hard sell harassment, just fun bartering and banter.
Apart from the stunning ancient monuments, and enthralling history, the food is excellent, the weather is perfect, and there are no mosquitoes. The hotels are of a great standard if a bit Smokey, but don’t worry you won’t be spending too much time in your room.
I wish explore offered more Jordan trips because I would do them all!
