This was our first trip to the Himalayas and we had the absolute greatest experience ever, thanks in total to the service from the local operator and our sherpa/guide Chandan Magar. Chandan proved to be more then the most capable and knowledgable of guides, always looking after us etc., he was also very personable and fun to spend with me during the trek ! We had many great laughs, eclipsed only by the wonderful places he took us to see. His knowledge and grasp of everything Nepali gave a deep insight into much more then just the trekking and mountains whcih Nepal is famous for. If you do a trek in Nepal ask first for Chandan Magar and you know your money is well spent! Sujan, who booked the tour and everything else for us in Kathmandu, was also not only a great professional but a good friend to have when overseas and far from home. All in all what else can I say other then that I cannot wait to do this all again in future!

The AP mini circuit has to be considered as a viable alternative to the full circuit(which I have not done) - if you have a fortnight and are confident of your trekking abilities, you will get all the thrill of the trek up the Valley and over the 5416m pass , a descent through the incredible Mustang valley on the other side followed by a memorable flight past the AP range back to Pokhara .

I am back at my office now after 12 days trekking and still dreaming with our trekking around Anapurnas :-) We were there the first 2 weeks in September and fortunately had only 2 days rain. If you have only limited time to see the highlights of Nepal, you want to be sure to make the best of it and not waste your time. We can highly recommend doing this Trek. It is a tough hiking trek (since you will be at very high altitudes for multiple days in a row) but the views make up for it - the landscape is stunning. Our Guide (Sanchaman Rai) explained a lot and did his best so that we felt always safe and secure. When we could not finish the first pass (Kongma La) - Sanchaman adjusted our plan so that we could do the other two passes, even though we lost a day. All in all it was a great trek with a great tour agency. (Hint: If you think about doing the Trek in less than 16Days - it may be possible, but make sure that you acclimatize correctly otherwise you will not enjoy the experience :-). In our opinion 16 Days is the perfekt amount of time).
