Embark on a journey through the lesser-known regions of southern Poland and northern Slovakia and delve into the heart of the Carpathian Mountain Range. Over 8 days, we transition from Krakow and the rolling hills of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship to Slovakia’s castle-studded Spis region and the snow-capped peaks of the High Tatras. While the rides offer diverse challenges, the pace remains unhurried, allowing ample time to explore heritage sites, enjoy scenic hikes, unwind in old town squares, and savor wholesome meals.
Meeting in Krakow, the first stage of the adventure takes us through the Polish countryside of the Carpathian foothills and past the densely forested Gorce and Pieniny National Parks. Crossing into Slovakia via a pedestrian and bicycle-only path along the Dunajec River gorge, we venture onwards to spend two nights in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic town of Levoca. Here, we immerse ourselves in the captivating history of the Spis region, with a highlight being Spissky hrad, Slovakia’s largest castle and a medieval ruin to the nth degree! The tour’s final leg brings us into the High Tatras, Slovakia’s tallest mountain range and the crown jewel of the Carpathians. We bike against the backdrop of towering granite peaks and relax at a classic Slovakian wellness hotel on the shores of Strbske Pleso, a picturesque montane lake. The tour ends in Strbske Pleso.
