We hired our guide for a full day of private touring the next day. The boat trip itself was awesome! His knowledge of Turkey's Ottoman history and storytelling was incredible! He added interesting details, dates, and anecdotal information and answered my husband's thousands of questions! This tour covers many of the highlights of Turkey and was a wonderful experience. Since there is only one included day in Istanbul I would recommend flying in a few days earlier and exploring Istanbul on your own before the tour begins - the city is twice the size of NYC and has a lot to offer. This is not difficult to do since the city is safe and has an excellent public transit system. This tour is then a fantastic way to see other portions of Turkey.
