The trip, overall itinerary and organisation was very good. This trip covered 3 countries over 4 weeks, in each of which we had a separate tour leader. Although all were nice people and helpful there is room for improvement. Our TL in Cambodia was quite difficult to understand (accent) but more significantly he talked far too much making details difficult to sort out. If he had focussed just on key facts, events etc it would have been much better. Also, all 3 took us to very poor restaurants where it seems they get free meals as a minimum. This should be addressed or made clear to clients.
Nevertheless overall had a fantastic time.
One further item to consider the train from Hanoi to Hue was considered by nearly all the clients on our trip to be exhausting and poor. Perhaps consider upgrading the train compartments. Most hotels were fair to OK with a few good, which I liked.
An amazing trip. Both tour leaders were very knowledgeable, patient and helpful. Explore did what it does best , take tourists into communities to witness local activities. The itinerary was varied mixing city and countryside with high profile site visits. The group members were great and engaged with the tour leaders. The people of Vietnam and Cambodia made us feel so welcome with their kindness and smiles. Top marks all round
A highly enjoyable trip that is superior to other offerings. The most distinct advantage of this tour is walking through Vietnam in a comfortable manner and pace. The tour explores villages in Vietnam that highlight both the rural life and natural beauty in various parts of Vietnam (North, Central, South). The second part of the tour that covers Cambodia adds a cultural element to the entire trip that is somewhat lacking in Vietnam. The entire experience is enhanced by small group sizes.
Set out on an unforgettable journey through Vietnam and Cambodia with the Family Discovery Vietnam and Angkor Wat Extension tour. Over 15 days, this art and architecture-focused trip is perfect for travelers eager to experience the best of both countries, blending vibrant cities, rich traditions, and breathtaking scenery.
Begin in Hanoi, Vietnam’s bustling capital, where the maze-like Old Quarter and French colonial facades offer endless intrigue. Cruise through the towering limestone formations of Halong Bay by kayak, and continue on to the historic charm of Hoi An, a riverside town known for its lantern-lit streets and centuries-old architecture. Experience daily life firsthand with a homestay in the Mekong Delta, where you’ll learn the secrets of Vietnamese cooking and master Kinh Van martial arts.
Travel south to Ho Chi Minh City, discovering hidden underground bunkers and the lively backstreets of old Saigon. An overnight train journey adds a dash of adventure, while a traditional junk boat stay offers a peaceful respite on the water.
The adventure doesn’t stop at the border—your trip culminates in Cambodia’s awe-inspiring Angkor Wat, where stunning temples rise from the jungle, and in Phnom Penh, whose vibrant riverfront pulses with energy and history.
With an easy activity level and a thoughtfully paced itinerary, this tour is accessible for a wide range of travelers. Accommodation, transport, and meals are all included for a worry-free journey.
The unique highlight of this tour package is the immersive blend of urban and rural experiences—letting you not only see, but truly participate in the daily rhythms and traditions of Vietnam and Cambodia. For those seeking a culturally rich adventure, this tour delivers memorable moments across two incredible lands.
Everything went very smoothly. The leader, Tre, was always organised and knowledgeable about the different visits. His English was a little difficult to understand at times but he was very attentive and helpful when there was a personal issue. No faults to raise.
This tour felt like a crash course in Southeast Asia, but in a good way. I wasn’t sure how much ground we could realistically cover in just over a week but this trip proved you don’t need a month to experience something meaningful. Everything was well-organized. What stood out most to me was how different Vietnam and Cambodia felt, even though they’re neighbors.
Hanoi was buzzing with life..scooters zipping by, food stalls everywhere, and this mix of modern and old that was fascinating to watch. Our guide helped us navigate the chaos in a way that made it feel approachable rather than overwhelming. Then, just when things felt fast-paced we got a breather on the Ha Long Bay cruise. Being out on the water was peaceful, the views were unreal.
In Cambodia, Angkor Wat was the big draw, and yes, it was absolutely worth it. But what I didn’t expect was how much I enjoyed the in-between moments.
And while there’s always a lot of walking on these kinds of trips, the pace felt doable, even for those of us who aren’t exactly as young as me (53 :p)
Would I do it again? Definitely. The trip left me feeling like I got a true taste of two cultures.
Our tour in Cambodia was spectacular. We were accompanied by a very knowledgeable tour guide. Expectations were surely met, and exceeded also. Would do it all again. 5 stars.

Kicking off in Hanoi and wrapping up in Bangkok, the adventure spans bustling cities, lantern-lit towns, and scenic coastlines. Savor Vietnam’s street food and coastal beauty, marvel at Cambodia’s ancient wonders, and get swept up in Thailand’s vibrant markets and iconic temples. With easy-paced activities, this guided group trip ensures everyone—whether seasoned explorer or first-timer—can enjoy cultural discoveries, beach escapes, and memorable local encounters. The unique blend of immersive experiences and family-friendly fun makes this tour package a standout for those who want to explore three countries in a single, seamless journey.
A very good travel agency that was able to help us put together this magnificent 14-day holiday in Vietnam. We really appreciated the guides, the walks away from the crowds and the recommended homestays. The agency was available throughout our stay and even allowed us to pick up a
small oversight in a hotel further down the road. Thank you very much, Vietnam Tour!
