Your first stop is the renowned Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre, where you will watch a traditional water puppet performance complete with operatic music. Water puppetry has been a favorite pastime of farmers in northern Vietnam for thousand of years. It is said that this art form first began at a time when rice paddies were flooded and villagers would make entertainment by standing in the waist-deep water with the puppets performing over the water. After enjoying the traditional puppet show, you will continue your walking tour along the Hanoi Old Quarter. This place is also known as "36 Streets" where hawkers sell a variety of produce (from live seafood to exotic fruits and spices). Here, you will have dinner featuring a good selection of regional Hanoi dishes served in “street” style (local style).
