I highly recommend this local tour operator! We took 18 days trek to Everest Base Camp and 3 High Passes in November and the experience was just amazing. We had everything professionally organized by Chris: transportation (including flight to Lukla), food and lodging, permits, you name it... The contact with the company was always quick and easy, Chris was super helpful and everything went smoothly. We were even provided with really good and warm sleeping bags and jackets! Our guide Lakpa was really experienced and knowledgeable, he showed us some of the most incredible places we've ever seen, helped us through all the though parts of the trail and was always there to answer questions and offer advice. More than a simple trip, our fifteen days in Nepal and Tibet were an unforgettable experience and a wonderful discovery. A very big thank you goes to this local tour operator and its Managing Director, Mr. Kaum Bahadur Subedi, who provided us with expert drivers (absolutely essential on the roads of Nepal) and guides with great expertise and experience. I want to especially mention Rem Raj Gurung who introduced us to the wonderful temples of Kathmandu, now all restored after the 2015 earthquake. A very useful exercise for me also who had visited those temples in the past. Even more exciting was traveling across the Tibetan plateau. We entered from the border with Nepal - which in itself is an adventure - and we traveled the long way that leads to Lasha, crossing a powerful and unforgettable landscape. Along the plateau we had the Himalayas on the right with its snowy peaks (we also went to admire the north face of Everest with a half-day detour) and on the left another long chain of mountains that outlined a landscape that is hard to find the words to describe. And then the unforgettable discovery for me, thanks to the guide that Mr Kaum made available to us for Tibet, a profound expert on the religiosity of the Tibetans. The discovery of a people who still live in a deep connection with their past and traditions: in religion, in clothing, in language. But I also found a genuine willingness towards foreigners. And we were among the few Westerners to visit the country. We also have a beautiful memory of Lasha, a modern city that lives with a past whose strength still seems very alive.

The trek was excellent although tough in the short timescale but I wanted the challenge. For others make sure youre happy with the non acclimatisation days, I had the full information and I chose to take the shorter trek. Off season in January although cold was a great time to trek as far less people on the trail as I hear spring time is just to hectic. Even in the winter you get warm during the daytime treking.

In November 2023 me and my friend embarked on a bucket list adventure. We booked a private tour for the drive in and out EBC via Gokyo Ri trip. Right from the get go everything was smooth, the communication at the head office made it appear there was no time difference between the U.K. and Nepal. Upon arriving in Nepal the pick up from the airport and briefing were clear and to the point with no delays or issues. The trek itself has definitely been one of the most beautiful and difficult things I have ever embarked upon and I have NO regrets with my choice in agency or itinerary! My tour guide for the 3 week package we booked and every day he stayed happy, tried his best to keep our spirits uplifted and made sure all the little things behind the scenes were sorted so all we had to do was focus on the trek itself. I highly recommend having him as a tour guide especially if you’re trekking in the Everest Region. Also, our Porter deserves a special shout-out for showing the strength of these Nepalese people, much stronger than I could imagine to be.

I completed the EBC trek with this local tour operator in October. From the beginning the company were excellent. They responded to all questions very quickly and clearly. They provided lots of extra information for me for my stay in Kathmandu. The guide on my trek, Raj, was excellent. He was great fun and had our safety as his first priority all the time. He kept us positive throughout and gave us clear information before each day of what would happen. The lodges we stayed in were exactly what we needed and the food throughout the trek was great. Our porters were also great fun and so kind. Raj was excellent at keeping everyone together and making sure that everybody was ok during the trek. We had a beautiful celebratory dinner once we had completed the trek, where we saw some traditional dancing and received plaques to remember our trek. The trek exceeded my expectations and I think a lot of that is down to Himalayan Recreation. I would highly recommend them for your trek!

The climb to Island Peak in 2017 was a great accomplishment for me. This was a very beautiful adventure arranged by the local operator. I trekked to Everest Base Camp and on the way back, I crossed the Kongmala Pass and went to Island peak from Chukung.
