Journey from Kathmandu to Lukla by air, then trek through iconic villages—Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Lobuche—on your way to the world’s most famous base camp.

Spend a night in Gorakshep, one of the highest year-round settlements, and catch breathtaking Himalayan vistas from Kala Patthar before your descent. This whirlwind trekking package is designed for those with limited vacation but boundless energy—note that it’s best suited for travelers already acclimatized to altitude, as there are no rest days.

day 1 - Kathmandu - Lukla & trek to Phakding

Board a 30-minute flight to Lukla from Kathmandu early in the morning. In case the weather is good, you can enjoy great views of the magnificent Himalayas during the flight. Arrive at Lukla Airport and take a short break before heading for Phakding, following the route of the Dudh Koshi River. Stay overnight in Phakding.

day 2 - Phakding - Namche Bazaar

Have breakfast and trek to Namche Bazaar. The trail to Namche involves climbing steep steps through dense forest and crossing the Dudh Kosi via swaying suspension bridges. Reach Namche Bazaar after a day-long hike. Enjoy spectacular mountain views as the sun sets over the Himalayas. Stay in Namche overnight.

day 3 - Namche Bazaar - Tengboche

The third day of the trek begins with another early start (around 6:00 am). Stop at several places to enjoy outstanding views of Mt Ama Dablam, Mt Everest and Mt Thamserku, among others. After a few hours' walk, the trail will take you to the hilltop village of Tengboche, famous for being home to the largest monastery in the Khumbu region, Tengboche Monastery.

day 4 - Tengboche - Dingboche

On the fourth day, the trek begins with a descend down rhododendron forests followed by steep climbs before you reach Pangboche. The trail then ascended and moves past Shomare and Orsho to Dingboche. In case its summer, you will see a lot of yaks grazing on mountain pastures. Enjoy amazing views of mountains from Dingboche.

day 5 - Dingboche - Lobuche

The trail moves upward through pastures. Cross a suspension bridge before reaching Thukla, from where a steep, uphill climb will take you to the Lobuche Pass. Lobuche is also home to a high-altitude research center that helps with communication during rescue operations.

day 6 - Lobuche - Gorakshep - Everest Base Camp - Gorakshep

Trek to Gorakshep while enjoying great views of the Khumbu Glacier and surrounding mountains. Take some rest before heading for Everest Base Camp. Reach the final destination of this tour on the sixth day. See Everest, Nuptse, Pumori, Khumbutse and Lingtren mountains. Spend some time in the base camp before heading back to Gorakshep, where you will stay overnight.

day 7 - Gorakshep - Kala Patthar - Pheriche

Hike up to Kala Patthar. Enjoy a 360-degree view of the mountains and the Khumbu Glacier below them. See Mt. Everest up close before plodding your way back to Gorakshep. Descend to Pheriche, another beautiful valley surrounded by rocky hills and mountains. Spend your night in Pheriche.

day 8 - Pheriche - Namche Bazaar

Trek back to Namche Bazaar following the Dudh Koshi River. Stop along the route for tea and lunch.

Continue your journey down to the small airstrip at Lukla. Its going to be a long journey today, involving nearly 8 hours of hike. Spend your night in Lukla.

day 10 - Lukla - Kathmandu (flight)

Great company & great trek

the trek was excellent although tough in the short timescale but I wanted the challenge. For others make sure youre happy with the non acclimatisation days, I had the full information and I chose to take the shorter trek. Off season in January although cold was a great time to trek as far less people on the trail as I hear spring time is just to hectic. Even in the winter you get warm during the daytime treking.

ASK FOR SUDIP - AMAZING GUIDE AND AN AMAZING TREK

The Everest Base Camp Trek was my first multi-day trek, and my first time in negative temperatures. But with Sudip and my local tour operator everything went so smoothly that it's hard telling anyone at home that it was that difficult. I went on this trek solo but Sudip made sure I had someone to chat to on the walk, as well as my own time at the tea houses with other trekkers on the path. A knowledgeable and experienced guide can make your journey safe, and also have passion for his job, your journey will become more enjoyable. My guide Sudip Tamang is a person like that, he always stand for the side of his client, and concern what we need. My husband and I are late 50s, 12 days trekking seen to be not easy for us. My dear guide Sudip always encouraged us, and said that he will try all best for made our dream come true. He took care us not only physically and also mentally need. Really we finished our trekking without any problems. My porter Arjun is a helpful man. Sometimes he chooses to give up his rest time to take care of us.
