My husband and I had a wonderful experience on our recent Expat explore tour "Europe Escape", from 01 - 12 Dec 2024. The tour started and ended in Rome, we were given a good appreciation of both the City and quaint little town along the route which took us to Venice, Tuscany, Florence, Múnich, Rhine Valley, Ámsterdam, Ghent, Paris, Burgandy, Beaune, Montmatre, Lake Como, Rome, the Swiss Alps!!
Oh wow! This was such an amazing trip! Our guide, Roma was so knowledgeable and made it even more exciting with her bubbly personality, and our bus driver, Ishti made us feel so safe on the roads...they were truly awesome! I know that keeping a large group together is no easy feat, but they made us feel like family. They shared very helpful tips about the local places, information that you would not normally know as a tourist. Oh! and we were given these cute little passports and stamps to mark the places as we visited them through the tour...this was a really great idea!

George was an excellent tour leader. He provided all kinds of interesting and entertaining facts about mythology, Paul and Greece. I would recommend him to others. It is a tough trip and you really need to be able to walk from 16000 to 20000 steps per day. A lot of places were just opening because the tour seasons started that week.
This was my first all land trip with Collette. I usually take river cruises. I was more than pleased with this trip. We were met at the airport and put in a limousine to go to our hotel. Our hotels were safe and excellent in every way. Our motor coach was spacious and very comfortable. The food was excellent. Our guide was nice, experienced, knowledgeable, accommodating, and full of great fun. She managed to bring a great cohesiveness to a bunch of total strangers and change the group members into great friends in one, fun-filled week. We saw interesting sights. We had time for shopping. And most importantly, we had time to meet Irish people. We watched a national rugby game, drank a beer, and sang many Beatles’ songs I thoroughly enjoyed the tours, dinner shows., and our castle stay. I will definitely return to the Republic of Ireland and many other Collette destinations for future travel.
Our favorite memorable experience was made even richer and more enjoyable because of our excellent tour guide, Antonjia, who was a great story teller, immersing us and teaching us, not only about Iceland as an island geographically, but as a people with a rich heritage and culture. She made us fall in love with the people, their culture and their land. That is why our most memorable event was even more impactful when we joined the locals of Vik on New Year’s Eve for a bonfire and fireworks by the black beach. The ‘raison on the end of the hot dog’ was an amazing northern lights show later that evening.
The tour was amazing overall. We did not find the itinerary rushed at all and felt like we had enough time at each attraction. Kriszte the tour leader was amazing and we enjoyed talking with her and her positive spirit and energy was a great plus. Our bus driver Josef was extremely skilled and we felt very safe. The itinerary was very well thought out and the drives through the alps are something you have to experience for yourself words will not describe the beauty of the journey. The itinerary changed for the Swiss Alps portion of the trip, due to hotel scheduling circumstances I believe, however the optional excursions that were put in place were more than sufficient. Mount Pilatus and a trip to Heididorf were substituted for Jungfraujoch as the itinerary was re-worked and they were both very enjoyable experiences. The Tyrolean folk evening was a lot of fun and the meal was very good.
Overall, we found the itineraries, excursions, tour leader, bus driver, and experience with Expat
