My only critique is that we should have been provided more information on the difficulties with using credit cards and ATM’s in China and the prevalent use of cash only. I have traveled to 55 countries & never had difficulty using credit cards & ATM’s until China. Most places wouldn’t take US Visa or Mastercard & ATM’s wouldn’t give me Chinses yen

On this four-day tour, hike along the Great Wall near Beijing and visit the not-to-be-missed places in the capital such as the Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Hutong. This action-packed tour of Chengdu starts off with the first highlight - the Dujiangyan Panda Valley. The famous Panda centre offers refuge and doting for these magnificent, rare animals with rearing and breeding programmes. These giant pandas are the symbol of China, and the research centre provides education and raises awareness of the plight of these great creatures and their environment.
Our tour then moves on to discover the history of two ancient towns. Then it’s on to Mengding Mountain, famous for its tea culture where we take a walk in the Mengdingshan Royal Tea Gardens: a delight with its atmospheric pavilions and walking paths. China’s tea growing history can be traced back to the Western Han Dynasty over 2,000 years ago. Reputed to be the birthplace of Chinese tea cultivation, tea trees planted at Mengding by a herdsman are believed to be the very beginning of China's tea history.
We next visit UNESCO Heritage listed Mount Emei, one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China and traditionally regarded as a place of enlightenment. The unsurpassed views are one of the great spectacles of Mount Emei and is yet another high point of the tour in all senses of the word! The ride then follows the river to the town of many temples, Leshan. Our last day of the tour takes us on a walk through bamboo forests and to Huang Long Xi, a picturesque town where many Chinese movies have been filmed.

Hike a classic section of the Great Wall in Hebei Province. Camp, explore and trek between small villages after exploring the iconic sights of Beijing. This innovative itinerary takes in a remote section of the Great Wall outside Beijing in Hebei Province. Hosted by local families, we camp in comfort in exclusive locations and explore the Great Wall over five days, trekking between villages. The scenery is vast and diverse as we trek our way through tall swaying corn cropped field to distant green river valleys with one of the great wonders of the world as our backdrop. Host families provide us with true rural hospitality in the 'real China' and allow us rare interaction, including visits to family homes. In Beijing we visit the capital’s major historic sites such as the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. We also indulge in the culinary delight that Chinese cuisine is so famous for. The Beijing food experiences will no doubt compete with the trek itself as one of the highlights of this entirely unique adventure.

Cycle from Guangzhou through stunning rural countryside and the limestone pinnacles of Yangshuo, visit the Terracotta Warriors and historical sights of Beijing. On this trip you go as a traveller, only to find that you become the main attraction, as local people are delighted to see that we travel as they do - on bicycles. We jostle for room with lumbering buffaloes, friendly farmers and of course local cyclists while at other times we cycle for long periods in complete serenity on country roads. Our cycling pace is relaxed with time to stop in villages or any other sites of interest. A mini bus accompanies us to carry our gear and provides a welcome break when you have had enough cycling for the day. Following our cycle ride we have ample time to appreciate the rich culture and history of Xian (with its thousands of terracotta warriors) and Beijing (including a remote section of the Great Wall) to provide an incomparable panorama of rural, ancient and modern China. Your Hong Kong English guide will be holding a sign with your name on it and waiting for your group at your centrally located Hong Kong hotel on 09:00 in the morning. Visit the relaxing Stanley Street which was first built in the late 19th century and then go to Victoria Peak, the highest mountain on Hong Kong Island. It provides spectacular views of Hong Kong and the waterfront. Most interestingly, the peak is home to many species of birds and the black kite, and numerous species of butterflies. Have a typical Hong Kong snack for lunch, and the lunch fee is at your own charge, which is not included in the tour package.
Later on, go to West Point and Lascar Row. The West Point is a point of land on Hong Kong Island located at the shore off Pokfulam Road and Queen's Road West since 18th century, and you can see lots of antiques shops with copper mirrors, electric fans, jade gems, watches, ancient coins, Qing dynasty vases and when you get to Lascar Row. Then, visit Yau Ma Tei and Lee Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum.
Yau Ma Tei is a beautiful ancient village since the 18th century, and when you go inside the Lee Cheng Uk Han Tomb Museum, several photographs of the village can be seen. The tomb's structure and layout are shown with models and plans, which was dated from the inscriptions on the bricks. It includes cooking utensils, food containers, storage jars and models as well as bowls and basins since 1700 years ago. Finally, return back to your hotel.
