I thought it might be useful to give a little more info about the walking on this trip as I was very concerned I had bitten off more than I could chew. I am nearly 73, fit , for my age, woman. Used to walking but I live in Essex so am not used to hills! I have walked in Vietnam and Georgia in the past 18 months however this trip was much more of a challenge because of altitude and heat. I was the oldest in the group of 11 with the youngest at 22(!) Whilst three of the group reached the peak a good hour ahead and two turned back the rest of us all succeeded. It was challenging however if I can do it others can!! Very tough on knees and my advice is to get your cardio up to scratch and go for it! Overall a fantastic trip with excellent walking, very basic camping, great food and Hery a wonderful, caring guide.

Helped checked luggage pre-trek to ensure I have all equipment and clothing, potential risk assessment for the hike. Most importantly he helped me to reach the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro successfully despite being 4 hours later than everyone due to my slow speed. 3) Team: one guide, one chef, (Amos), one waiter (David). These were the main people who spoke to me. Great English. 4 porters who helped me as I was walking like a snail and had some slight toe injuries. Full team was very attentive to my needs and preferences of food, comfort level, questions about anything about Mount Kilimanjaro. Very friendly and patient crew.

Great holiday with a superb tour guide. One recommendation is on the hotel transfer on arrival. I appreciate thst it’s included in the package and you have to be mindful of costs, but waiting two hours for the transfer after long flights and little sleep was quite gruelling. Then we discovered that the hotel was only 20 minutes away! It might be an idea to give guests the option of paying for a taxi themselves instead of it’s likely to be a long wait.
