day 1 - Entebbe Airport arrival
Meet our representative on arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your accommodation in the city for an overnight stay.
day 2 - Entebbe to Lake Mburo National Park
We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. Drive westward out of the city with a stopover en-route at the equator before arriving at your accommodation in Mburo National Park in time for lunch. After lunch, it is time for an afternoon boat cruise in Lake Mburo, which gave the national park its name.
The national park is the smallest of Uganda’s protected savannah parks. It is home to over 350 species of birdlife as well as animals like zebras and buffaloes that roam the savannah. You might also spot elands, Oribi waterbucks, hippos and leopards.
Time allowing, you will get the chance to enjoy an evening game drive today.
day 3 - Lake Mburo National Park – Bwindi Gorilla Park
A short game drive early in the morning marks the end of your stay in Lake Mburo National Park. Head for your next destination, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is known for mountain gorillas. The drive will take you through a tarmac route followed by a reasonable distance on a murram road with bumpy portions.
Check into your accommodation on arrival. You are free for the rest of the day.
day 4 - Gorilla trekking
Today is the big day. Wake up early in the morning and have breakfast. Your gorilla trekking starts at 8:00 am. After a briefing at the park headquarters, you will trek through dense, steep forest slopes searching for gorillas.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is located in south-western Uganda, on the edge of the East African Rift Valley. It is home to over 400 mountain gorillas, about half of the world’s mountain gorilla population. However, over 350 species of birds and 400 flora species can also be found in the national park.
The trek through the forest can last anywhere from two to seven hours depending upon where the gorilla group assigned to you were seen making nests the previous evening. Although the journey through the forest can be tiring, the reward of seeing one of man's closest relatives up and close in their natural habitat is worth it.
day 5 - Back to Entebbe and departure
Leave Bwindi for Entebbe in the morning. The drive will take you through Ugandan countryside, past plantations and beautiful rural scenery. It is a long drive to the capital city, around eight hours. Reach Entebbe late in the afternoon.
Alternatively, we can also book you a light aircraft flight from Bwindi to Entebbe at an additional cost if you want to.
