Daudi answered all of our questions patiently and quickly from the start. All of our accommodations were excellent, with amazing food and service. Special thanks to Jordan and Peter, our very knowledgeable and friendly guides who made this trip so memorable. Every day (no matter how early), they greeted us with great enthusiasm and eagerness to show us more wildlife up close, allowing us to take great pictures. During our drives, we had many discussions about wildlife and the environment, not to mention all of the laughter from their great sense of humor. I went on safari in Africa for the first time in my life, and I feel like-why didn't I come here sooner! During the first few days of the game drive, our guide showed us animals that we didn't even know we were looking for. Lions, cheetahs, and rhinos - I have seen them all, and every time the guide has made the place more alive with funny stories. When I arrived in Zanzibar, I felt like I was in a different world - white sand beaches, clear blue water, and sunsets. Great experience with this tour operator. Organization was all perfect. Our head guide Filbert and his entire team were fantastic, they clearly knew what they were doing and that experience shone through the entire trek. Very professional, helpful, knowledgeable and competent.
We spent 2 weeks (April 2023) of dreams with the route offered by this travel specialist in southern Ethiopia.
Accompanied by an excellent driver with a very comfortable 4x4 car and a guide fluent in English and French and rich in very broad knowledge of his country, its history, the many different tribes, the fauna, religions, different climates, climate, a real walking bible! We shared 10 days with these two very nice people and the many exchanges were friendly. A delight.
We particularly liked the visits to the different tribes (Dorze, Mursi, Karo, Arbore, Hamer, Sidama and others) where we could share the preparation and their meal, the coffee ceremonies and even their dances.
The different lodges for the night were all of very good quality and we really regret that actually only few tourists choose to travel through this beautiful country and its many ethnic groups so different and happy to share their daily life.
Betty and Yaye prepared our journeys over 10 days and we had only very good surprises, everything far exceeded our initial expectations.
Thanks again to Hailu and Fisch for allowing us to find ourselves in a different world, poor but very humble and welcoming.

I was part of a group of 3 hikers wishing to climb Kilimanjaro via the Machame route in 7 days. The experience was great and landscapes so amazing. In fact it was the second time I climbed Kilimanjaro. I wanted to renew this experience because the first time the weather conditions was very cloudy the three first days and also I was not completely satisfied of the company I chose at that time.
As such, I selected Maasai Wanderings for the good reviews I had and also because it is part of the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (you can have more details here: http://www.mountainexplorers.org/) that was a concern for me after my first experience. And what I can say is that I have not been disappointed, everything was perfect from the beginning to the end.
We were guided by Julius and his team that I recommend. He is a very nice guy, likable, always calm, encouraging you and giving all information required when you need it. He is adapting to you, and most of the time the first days, slowing you down to maximize a progressive acclimatization. I was interested by flowers and history of Kilimanjaro (snow cover, geology) and this guy is a big library.
Food was very good, varied and always in good quantity. It is surprising to see what the cooker is able to do in such conditions. There was a big mess tent where all meals were taken when it was not possible outside. The cooker is cooking just in front of you. The tent had also two extension rooms on each sides dedicated for staff (relaxing/sleeping). It was funny to see that despite of the altitude, the coldness etc. they were always happy, smiling, talking all time etc.
Everybody was dressed properly and adapted to the mountain conditions, even for the shoes. This is important to note because I have been very sad when I saw few other porters from other companies dressed just with a tee-shirt with holes everywhere or not descent shoes. When we reached the last camp (Barafu Hut) at around 13:00, one of the porter was sick and Julius, the guide, decided to escort him down to the gate quickly. He was back to Barafu Camp few hours before we left the camp to climb the final step and came with us! Everybody in the team successfully reached the top Uhuru Peak and of course everybody was very happy. Once again it has been an excellent trip and experience. I keep a lot of good memories.
For these reasons I recommend clearly Maasi Wanderings, for the quality of the guiding, the food, the tents, the team, all the equipments provided (and in good shape).
Our guides (Peter and Daniel) amazing guides and very experienced. They checked our gear before the hike to ensure we had everything we needed. They monitored our heat rate and oxygen levels each night. They knew when we needed encouragement and went above and beyond to get all eight of us to the summit. The porters that carried our tents, food, etc were friendly and helpful. The local tour operator knows their stuff. We could not have done it without them. We highly recommend them if you are planning to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro.
