Budget Camping Safaris are among the most popular options for visitors who want to explore Tanzania’s many game parks and other wilderness areas. Camping Safaris allow you to visit the best national parks in Tanzania and get great safari experiences, while then camping in the bush or by the parks at night - where you will then be able to socialise with other people camping also.
We provide mainly smaller tents having a capacity of two people whereby mattresses are put on the sewn-in ground sheet and all preparations at the camp are done on arrival with clients participating with pitching the tents. Washroom and shower room facilities are set separate from the tents and they are made to provide reasonable hygienic standard.
This is a real authentic African experience - still with the benefits and comforts of a safari guide, a cook and few more attendants to take care of all your needs. This tour thrives to provide the highest level of comfort to allow clients experience the intimate contact with the bush and the live sounds of the African nights that gives a truly authentic adventure.
If any questions, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us here at Bookmundi.

The Lemosho Route is perhaps the most scenic Kilimanjaro route, from the first day to the last. The trail begins north of Shira, also on the western side of the mountain. But unlike the Shira Route, where for the first day you walk on a wide 4 WD road, Lemosho is a narrow wilderness trail right from the beginning, passing through pristine and remote rainforest with good chances of seeing wildlife. It then crosses the Shira Plateau before joining the Machame Route near the Lava Tower.
Luckily, despite its growing popularity, especially for second time Kilimanjaro climbers, Lemosho sees a very low number of people and truly offers and incredible adventure on the highest peak in Africa, and the highest free standing mountain in the world.
Maasai Wanderings is looking very much forward to providing you with a climb of a lifetime. No previous mountaineering experience is required for this trip.
Looking for a long, safe route to the top of Africa's highest peak with necessary acclimatization time built-in? The Northern Circuit route is not just one of the best routes but also the newest official route to ascend Mt. Kilimanjaro. This special route is also the least used and the longest route, perfect for those seeking a remote, peaceful trek. Trekking this trail guarantees excellent acclimatization changeover and exceptional views from the northern slope of the mountain.
The Northern Circuit follows the Lemosho route for the first few days, then ascending the Shira Ridge to cross the high Shira Plateau. Trekkers will leave the Lemosho route to turn northwards and follow the main circuit when approaching near the Lava Tower. Circling clockwise from Moir Hut to Buffalo Camp, trekkers will pass through School Hut before finally summitting from the east. The descent is made via the Mweka route, where it is likely for trekkers to encounter other trekkers from the Lemosho, Shira, Umbwe, Machame or the Marangu routes.
One the seven main routes used to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the Machame route is the most popular path. It is the route of choice for many people because it provides impressive views and a variety of habitats. About 50% of all climbers, and most seasoned climbers, choose the Machame route.
The Machame route is also known as the Whiskey route, given its reputation for being a tough climb, in contrast to the easier Marangu route, which is known as the Coca Cola route. Unlike the gradual incline and hut accommodations found on the Marangu Route, the climbers on Machame hike steeper trails, for longer distances, while sleeping in tents.
Despite it being a little more difficult it is highly recommended because it provides a fantastic trail and great views along the way. We are looking very to taking you on a trip of a lifetime.
Machame, known as the "Whiskey" route, is a popular route to the mountain. Compared with Marangu, the days on Machame are longer and the walks are steeper. It is considered a difficult route, better suited for more adventurous folks, and those with some hiking or backpacking experience. Machame approaches from the southwest and descends using Mweka, rewarding climbers with views of the expansive Shira Plateau.

Join us on a journey to the top of the roof of Africa, and we promise to present an adventure unlike any you've seen before.
Despite being one of the newest routes to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, the Lemosho Route has quickly become one of the most popular routes for travelers visiting this African wonder. The lower number of trekkers, stunning scenery and higher success rate to reaching the very top makes it a traveler favorite, and most trekkers taking this route fall in love with it. What makes it even more unique is that unlike the more popular Machame Route, this route crosses the majestic Shira Plateau via a flat and easy hike .
The Lemosho route can be done in as little as six days (five nights) on the mountain. However, it is ideally tackled over eight days (seven nights) for a better altitude acclimatization schedule. The trek begins at Londorossi Gate, located in the western base of mountain, within its lush, fertile rainforest. The route heads across the Shira Plateau, before circling along the southern circuit halfway around the mountain, exposing the climber to great views from all angles. The approach to the summit is made from the east, and the descent follows the Mweka trail. With eight days (seven nights) on the mountain, your chances of reaching the “Roof of Africa” are very high, around 90%.
The Lemosho route is approximately 70 km/ 42 miles from gate to gate. It is designed for physically fit people with some hiking experience. There are several variations to the 8-day Lemosho climb regarding starting and finishing points, altitude, distance and hiking time. However, ours is considered to be the ideal Lemosho route variation.
Experience the authentic "wild Africa" on this budget-friendly 6-day Tanzania camping safari to Lake Manyara National Park, Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. Learn about local peoples with the included cultural tours to Lake Eyasi for bush hunting with the Hudzabe and a visit to a local Maasai community. This trip is perfect for nature lovers, travellers interested in learning about local cultures and those who are looking for a break from civilisation and its comforts.
On our adventure camping safari, you can immerse yourself in the Tanzania wilderness. Travel on rough and adventurous roads, pass tiny rural settlements and witness fascinating landscapes and abundant wildlife. All your senses will feel alive – smelling early morning coffee, experiencing the thrill of a kill and feeling the chill in the air of a morning game drive. Fall asleep to the hooting of an owl and wake up to the roaring of a lion. When you are camping, the safari experience is all the more intense as you are ‘right in the middle’ of it all. The nearness to nature compensates for the luxury of a lodge.
See a huge variety of wildlife such as water birds, antelopes and noisy troops of baboons in Lake Manyara National Park, and experience a collapsed volcano filled with predators and prey in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

The Great Wildebeest Migration
The great Serengeti wildebeest migration is the movement of vast numbers of the Serengeti's wildebeest, accompanied by large numbers of zebra, and smaller numbers of Grant's gazelle, Thompson's gazelle, eland and impala. These move in an annual pattern which is fairly predictable. They migrate throughout the year, constantly seeking fresh grazing lands and it's now thought that they are looking for better quality water.
Witness one of the world's most stunning natural spectacles - the Great Migration! Hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebras make their way across the Serengeti every year, in a breath-taking spectacle of beauty and savagery. During this special 7-days game drives and safari trip you will spend four full days in the Serengeti National Park, probably the world's best safari park, observing this incredible journey.
You will also have 1 cultural tour with the Hadzabe people, and learn about their way of living, including meeting the bushmen. Aside from Serengeti we will also spend one full day in the famous Ngorongoro Crater, famous for its dense wildlife population.
