Embark on a 4-day Mount Meru climbing expedition in Tanzania, ascending one of Africa’s most beautiful volcanic mountains, rising to 4,566 meters above sea level. Less crowded than Kilimanjaro yet more technical in places, Mount Meru offers a rewarding challenge for adventurous trekkers.
The ascent is steep and varied, crossing streams and passing through open parkland, dense mountain forest, and high-altitude moorland before reaching a rugged volcanic landscape. The route demands more technical effort than most Kilimanjaro routes, making it an excellent climb for those seeking a tougher mountain experience.
Mount Meru is also unique for its wildlife encounters, with chances to spot giraffes, buffalo, antelope, and other animals along the lower slopes. The final ascent follows a narrow, exposed ridge to the summit, delivering dramatic views down into the ash cone far below and across to Mount Kilimanjaro rising in the distance.
Embark on a 6-day Mount Kilimanjaro climb via the Marangu Route, often known as the “Coca-Cola Route.” This is the only route offering overnight stays in mountain huts equipped with solar-powered lighting and is used by nearly half of all Kilimanjaro climbers.
The trek offers beautiful scenery, with each day passing through a different climate zone, from lush rainforest to alpine landscapes. The standout moment is summit day, when you walk from Gillman’s Point along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, passing impressive glaciers and ice cliffs along the way.
On clear mornings, the views are exceptional, stretching across the Rift Valley, Mount Meru, and the Maasai Steppe. Join this classic route for a memorable ascent to Africa’s highest mountain.

The Kilimanjaro Machame route is one of the most popular routes for climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. The reason for its popularity is due to it being a very scenic route.
This is a long and hard trek, which reaches an altitude of 5895m. Even if you consider yourself fit, you might still find the climb very hard, depending on how well your body acclimatises to high altitude. There is no scientific way to determine how easily you acclimatise, and be aware that the acclimatisation process also differ from climb to climb.
Most of the trails on the Kilimanjaro trek are well defined and of good quality but some forest sections are often slippery and moorland paths can be very wet in poor weather conditions.
The final ascent to Uhuru peak is almost exclusively on loose rock without permanent footpaths. However, no technical skills are required. During the course of the trip we shall spend time at both high and low altitude, experiencing both extremely cold and quite hot conditions.
We will prepare for an early start every day on Kilimanjaro.
For seasoned trekkers seeking the ultimate African mountain adventure, the 17-day Twin Peaks tour offers an exhilarating ascent of both Mt Kenya and Mt Kilimanjaro. Start in Nairobi, trekking the scenic Chogoria Route to Point Lenana (4,985m) on Mt Kenya, enjoying breathtaking alpine landscapes and rare flora.
After acclimatizing, travel to Tanzania to take on the challenging Lemosho Route up Kilimanjaro (5,895m). The slow ascent across the Shira Plateau ensures you’re well-prepared for the final summit push and the unforgettable sunrise from Africa’s highest point. Along the way, encounter diverse wildlife and immerse yourself in the natural splendor of East Africa.
The tour’s unique selling point is its expertly crafted itinerary, maximizing acclimatization and success, while offering the rare achievement of conquering both peaks in one trip. For those who crave challenge, scenery, and accomplishment, this is the trekking tour of a lifetime.
