Simple stays with essential amenities. Typically guesthouses, hostels or hotels rated below 3 stars — clean, no-frills, and great for value-conscious travelers.
Comfortable and reliable 3-star stays. Expect private rooms, en-suite bathrooms, and solid amenities — a great balance between comfort and cost.
Upscale 4-5 star hotels and lodges. Enjoy high-end service, refined comfort, and premium locations — ideal for travelers seeking extra indulgence.
Great trip. Full on pace, would have to skip activities to slow down! A cultural and nature trip. Guatemala was my favourite country; the Mayan history and culture. The archeological site at Copan adds to the diversity of experiences on this trip. As well the more recent history of regime change in Nicaragua. The Spanish colonial architecture was highlighted at all destinations, quaint hotels. Nature’s beauty and wild life was showcased throughout. Overall, a diversity of experiences filled the two weeks!

Thomas Morales (Tommy) is a fantastic tour guide. He is highly knowledgeable of all the areas we visited, extremely helpful, nothing was a problem, guided and advised us, helped with border crossings, had restaurants booked, carried bags, and gave you the feeling of safety, that he knew what he was doing and was taking you on the right path. A pleasure to be with for four weeks he made the experience wonderful. Thank you, Tommy!

The itinerary requires lots of long driving days so I give it 4 stars but it’s also the only way to do it all. Hotels were a nice upgrade though little time to enjoy them as days are full on.

I just left this on google reviews: This tour exceeded all expectations! Our guide went above and beyond to ensure we had as many adventures as possible, making every moment truly special. The small group size (just five of us) made the experience even better—we felt comfortable, well taken care of, and able to personalize our trip.
Some of the highlights included exploring Monteverde’s stunning cloud forest, a wildlife river cruise where we spotted incredible species, and relaxing on the white-sand beaches of Manuel Antonio alongside iguanas and capuchin monkeys. We also enjoyed zip-lining, hanging bridges, and a visit to a sloth reserve. My personal favorite was horseback riding on the beach—an optional activity I did on my own, but one I highly recommend. The photos from this trip are absolutely amazing!
Even the nighttime walk, which wasn’t my favorite activity, turned into a hilarious and memorable experience. I laughed so much that it ended up being fun, even though we didn’t see much (except in the parking lot!).
Overall, this trip was an incredible mix of adventure, nature, and fun. If you’re looking for an unforgettable way to experience Costa Rica, this is it. Highly recommend! If you’re lucky enough to get Diago as a guide, you will have an experience you’ll never forget. Diago deserves a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ review direct to explore worldwide!! He went way above and beyond. He took us to amazing restaurants and was our personal photographer. I’ll never forget this trip! I went solo and met the group there and I felt safe with our guide and group. Well done explore worldwide. Where can I go next….

We thoroughly enjoyed this trip but we were SO glad that we chose to go at this time of year so that we could see the Day of The Dead celebrations! I cannot imagine having missed out on this most significant part of our trip. We dressed up and had our faces painted so that we could join in to the maximum. Everyone was jovial and kind hearted and good spirited. The visit to the cemetary to see the relatives celebrating was a highlight and certainly sheds a new light on death.
Apart from this, the trip involved seeing many of the Mayan ruins through Mexico, Guatemala and Belize, all so different and each offering its own special attraction. The wildlife we saw around these ruins and along the river cruise was certainly unexpected and a real bonus. Take binnoculars!!
Luis, our guide, was very knowledgeable and passionate about his country and the history, cultures and traditions and we felt we learned a lot about each of the three countries involved.
There was a lot of travelling involved and most long days were interspersed with stopping off at sites to visit, but there were a couple of days when it seemed as if we were just going from A to B. Take lots of good books!! We were only a group of eight, so were able to spread out on the minibusses but space was tight for leg room in the Mexican minibus and it would have been a very uncomfortable ride if we had had to sit more closely together. The drivers were all very safe.
The hotels were mainly good, standard accommodation, clean and comfortable and some exceeded our expectations, especially the one in Guatemala. However, one was below standard and this was the one in Palenque, The Hotel Villas Kin- Ha. The rooms were dirty and tired and the food wasn't great. It was also a way from the centre of town making it difficult to eat elsewhere. There did seem to be better rooms on offer, but we were given the older ones at the back of the hotel.
We didn't do the extension and were sorry not to see Chichen Itza but we felt that many of the other Mayan Ruins we did see had lots to offer and were less crowded and more remote.
Alll in all, a great holiday!
