Visit the Step Pyramid (Built for king Zoser), which is considered an important part in the process of the pyramid evolution, which were made from the simple mastaba to its widely known form. Then Visit Dahshur Pyramids (Bent & Red Pyramids). The Dahshur area is a royal necropolis located in the desert on the West Bank of the Nile approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi) south of Cairo. It is known chiefly for several Pyramids, two of which are among the oldest, largest and best preserved in Egypt, built from 2613–2589 BCE. Then, we will visit Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, where the colossal statue of Ramses II and the great Alabaster Sphinx were built back in 3100 B.C . At the end of the tour, around 13:00 pm, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Excellent trip overall. Itinerary was full on, varied and interesting. Some days were perhaps too full and one visit could have been better the day after ( say). Mohamed or guide was excellent. His explanations were VERY detailed and perhaps more of an overview would suffice for those of us who were not keen Egyptologists! He looked after us very well though. The Old Cataract Hotel is a must but we organised that ourselves.

Then continue your day tour to The Colossi of Memnon which are remains of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III. Lunch is included at a local restaurant but beverages are not included. After lunch, continue on your day tour to the East Bank where you will visit Karnak & Luxor Temples. Karnak Temple is the greatest example of worship in the history, dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu. We had a fantastic trip to Egypt. I am a single mum with a 10 and 12 year old. We were in a very small group with just one other family and we had a brilliant time. Mohammed, the group leader was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and fun and made everything run smoothly, even the bits that didn’t (don’t expect the train to be on time, however flashy the new station). He was fantastic with the kids and generous with his experience of all aspects of Egyptian life. The trip is pretty full on but there is downtime built in. We love Egypt and will definitely go back. We’ll also definitely do another holiday with explore. For me, being on my own with the kids, the group meant I got some downtime and everything being so well organised meant I felt like I got a holiday as well! As an added bonus it was no more expensive to have two rooms at the hotels! Would totally recommend.
