Starting in the sprawling capital of Beijing this short tour of China gives you plenty of time to explore on of the most historic and culturally rich cities in the world. We also head out to marvel at one of the true wonders of the world, the Great Wall of China, and camp on a deserted section of the wall to watch the sunset.
Leaving the city crowds behind we next head out into rural China to the Hangzhou region and an option to trek to Moganshan Peak and to Chairman Mao's old summer residence. We'll also visit a stunning lagoon to swim in the crystal clear waters.
Our final destination is Shanghai, the biggest city in the world, and time to sample the vibrant nightlife on offer. There is plenty of opportunity to explore the sights, sounds and mouth-watering cuisine of this amazing city, and no doubt enjoy a little shopping spree as well.
This private, two-day guided tour of Xian from Beijing will take you to some of the most famous sights of China, including the Terracotta Warriors and the City Wall of Xian. Board a bullet train to Xian from Beijing on the first day of the tour (bullet train tickets are included in the tour price) and see the highlights of the city. Explore the Muslim Quarter and learn more about the life of the people.
The second day of the tour involves a trip to the City Wall of Xian as well as Jingdi’s Tomb. Hop on the bullet train back to Beijing in the evening. Your driver will transfer you to your accommodation in the city.
Walking on the Great Wall far exceeded my expectations. The photos in magazines do not compare to the magnitude of actually seeing the Wall in person as it extends for hundreds of miles in many directions spanning numerous ridges. It is an engineering marvel. My guide, Olly was outstanding. His knowledge, sense of humor and overall company contributed to my excellent experience on this trip. If you decide to walk the Great Wall of China, you will not be disappointed.
