It is truly a wonderful experience, but at the same time a truly "educational one"! Our tour director, was exceptional not wasting a moment of any day, pointing out the very significant points of interests, at the same time, taking every part of this significant history in a chronological order.
The accomodations and service, both on the boat and in the hotel were five start plus, since we live in the Palm Beaches and use to up-scale adventure, made the "Breakers", look like an outhouse.....need I say more!
The value vs the price were evenly matched.
As for shopping, once again, significant shops were selected to include, spice, perfumes, and of course jewelry. At the same time educationing you on their wares and how they are used.
Like INSIGHT always does, is taking you inside the home of a residemt and demonstrates their current life style and habits, only in this example, demonstrated how bread was made not only for their family, but the entire neighborhood.

We had a fantastic trip to Egypt. I am a single mum with a 10 and 12 year old. We were in a very small group with just one other family and we had a brilliant time. Mohammed, the group leader was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and fun and made everything run smoothly, even the bits that didn’t (don’t expect the train to be on time, however flashy the new station). He was fantastic with the kids and generous with his experience of all aspects of Egyptian life.
The trip is pretty full on but there is downtime built in. We love Egypt and will definitely go back. We’ll also definitely do another holiday with explore. For me, being on my own with the kids, the group meant I got some downtime and everything being so well organised meant I felt like I got a holiday as well! As an added bonus it was no more expensive to have two rooms at the hotels!

This is a day tour to Luxor from Aswan visiting the highlights of Luxor's East bank and West Bank.
At 7:00 Pm, we pick you up from your Hotel or Nile Cruise in Aswan. Then you will be transferred by a private A/C vehicle to Luxor. We will arrive at Luxor at 10:00 am.
Start your day tour with a visit to the West Bank of the Nile where you visit the Valley Of The Kings, the magnificence of the grandeur of architecture which was used for burial, there are many kings buried in this valley.The most known tombs are King Tutmosis I, Tutmosis III, Tut-Ankh-Amon, King Ramssess VI, King Mrenptah and AmonhotepII.
Followed by a visit to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut that is known as El Dir El Bahari which was built by Queen Hatshepsut the daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt about 20 years during the 18th Dynasty (approximately 1490-1469 B.C), the only pharaonic woman who reigned ancient Egypt. Then continue your day tour to The Colossi of Memnon which are remains of the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.
Lunch is included at a local restaurant but beverages are not included.
After lunch, continue on your day tour to the East Bank where you will visit Karnak & Luxor Temples. Karnak Temple is the greatest example of worship in the history, dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu.
Spend around 3 hours there, then continue your day tour visiting the Temple Of Luxor, which was built by Amunhotep III in 18th Dynasty in the New Kingdom and it was completed by Ramesses II during the 19th Dynasty.

This was one of the most incredible trips I've ever been on. *personal info removed by Feefo* was a fabulous tour manager and made the trip so entertaining and informative. It was very fast paced and I had not much sleep but it was worth it for all of the wonderful sites we saw and experiences we had. The luxury cruise boat was a highlight with all of its amenities, as were all of the temples we visited. Included meals were fine but we bought snacks to make up for any food we didn't like. Our group was a large one but pretty much everyone got on well together and had a blast. I would have loved an extra day in Hurghada to explore the town as we arrived at night and left at 7.30am so didn't get time to explore. Perhaps if the first day didn't start at 7pm (as Day 1 doesn't really count as a day since it's just a registration meeting) and was an afternoon of exploring Cairo that might have made room for more time somewhere else at the other end. Definitely take imodium tablets with you as over half of the group got sick throughout the week. Overall the whole week was amazing. I've made some friends for life and was so sad to leave at the end.

You'll also get a wonderful feel for local life with an overnight stay in a colourful Nubian village nearby, known for its warm hospitality. There's an unforgettable optional trip to see the colossal temples of Abu Simbel, built by Ramses II and saved from the rising waters of Lake Nasser – seeing them at sunrise is magical. Afterwards, it’s time to slow the pace right down as you board a traditional Nile felucca. Spend the afternoon peacefully sailing down the Nile, watching rural life unfold on the banks. Your Nubian crew will sail the boat, cook your meals, and maybe even entertain you with some local songs! You'll sleep on the deck under the stars (mattresses and blankets provided – it's basic but brilliant, though a hotel upgrade is possible if you prefer comfort!). After a final breakfast on the felucca, you'll say goodbye to the crew and travel north towards Luxor, often called the world's greatest open-air museum. On the way, you'll stop at the remarkably well-preserved Edfu Temple. Once in Luxor, you might want to see the grand Luxor Temple, beautifully lit up in the evening. The next day brings more wonders with a fascinating tour of Luxor's West Bank. You'll delve into the tombs of Pharaohs in the Valley of the Kings, marvel at the unique terraced Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and see the giant Colossi of Memnon. For a truly breathtaking perspective, an optional hot air balloon ride at sunrise over the West Bank is highly recommended! There might also be a chance to explore the vast Karnak Temple complex later on. Then it's time for the overnight train journey back to Cairo. Once there, you'll have a full day to explore this bustling capital.
