This was an excellent trip in every way. The leader Alejandro was outstanding- very caring, helpful , informative and well-organised. Peru is a varied and interesting country and although Machu Picchu was spectacular there were many other highlights to our tour. The itinerary covered a lot of ground but it was not too rushed with a good mix of organised activities and some free time. The transport by bus and train was comfortable and the hotels were good and well-situated.

As a solo traveller, this was my first experience in a group, and it won't be my last. The whole tour exceeded my expectations and every day had a 'Wow' factor. The Classis Peru trip is full-on, covering a lot of ground in just two weeks. The key sights are there, but also lots of unexpected minor sites which became highlights too. The quality of guide will make or break this kind of tour because there is quite a bit of travelling and exposure to unfamiliar history. We were extremely well served in this department with Arturo, who was well organised and very knowledgeable, but also kind and funny. The altitude effects must not be overlooked. Do expect to have a couple of days of feeling unwell, and recognise you may not be able to function with your usual energy and physical ability/stamina.

Arturo was the best leader ever and would highly recommend him for the leader of the year. The trip was varied and taught be so much. Definitely ( if you can!) go to Inti Raymi. The most spectacular event I have ever seen The Amazon extension was well worth the money as stayed in superb lodges with excellent food
