The trail was epic ! The best experience of my life !
Our guide Lucy managed logistics very well. She was knowledgeable and kept us moving together well. Our chef, Wenceslao needs to be crowned as the star of the trip. I’m vegan and he made me food that exceeded any expectations and beyond. How he made such delicious meals on top of a mountain baffles me.
Shout out to all the porters of #5 for their superhero power of getting our gear up the mountains.
Shared more about this previously :) But I also wanted to add that for me, the highlight of the trip was our visit to the Parque de la Papa. This was such a special opportunity and the work G Adventures does for local communities is admirable.
Take in the highlights of the unique flora- and fauna-rich islands of the Galapagos on this eight-day adventure. We’ll show you the best islands, coves and natural wonders, and give you plenty of time to explore (with local advice!) so you can spend your time the way you want. Snorkel with sea lions, swim with sea turtles and relax in paradise.
I had an amazing time with Roger and the team. Our chef was highly talented, each meal was well thought out and delicious. Our team worked so hard to ensure everything was perfect, delivering hot water and coca tea tent side, they really went the extra mile to ensure we had the best experience. The trek was beautiful and quiet, I loved walking through the remote villages. Overall it was a great experience and I would recommend g-adventures to anyone!
We had no idea what Ecuador had in store for us, it honestly wasn’t even at the top of our travel list but glad we booked it. From the moment we landed in Quito, we were hooked. The city is lively and colorful, and even though the altitude made us slow down a bit at first, the views from the top of El Panecillo made up for it.
The Otavalo Market was pure chaos in the best way. I kept telling myself not to buy anything… ended up with a bag full of woven scarves. Zero regrets.
Papallacta was a whole other vibe. The hot springs were exactly what we didn’t know we needed. If the trip had stopped there, I think we’d still be raving about it.
Banos was this hidden gem with waterfalls and fresh air.
The small group made everything more relaxed. No rushing, but no wasting time either. We felt like we got to really be in the places we visited. Everything was organized, we barely had to think. Just showed up, enjoyed, and soaked it all in. Would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
The team really put together a great itinerary that takes you to meet the natural beauty of Argentina. Our adventure through the Humahuaca Gorge was an absolute highlight. The stunning landscapes and vibrant colors of the mountains left me in awe. The serenity of the Andes, the crystal-clear mountain lakes, and the rugged terrain all combined to create a truly remarkable experience.
The Tango show and dinner experience was truly the cherry on top of our time in Buenos Aires. It was an emotional journey into the heart and soul of Argentina, a performance that left us spellbound and filled with appreciation for the country's culture.
I can't thank enough the team for the memories I've made.
It's been an incredible experience. There was nothing missing from this trip: great company, incredible places, the challenge of hiking at high altitude, loads of food. Thanks to Rolo for being such an amazing guide.
This spectacular tour will introduce you to two of South America's greatest travel icons – the mysterious wonder of Machu Picchu and the fascinating Amazon rainforest.
The sky-scraping citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as the Lost City of the Incas, was built in the peaks of the Andes around 1450. If its walls could talk, they would tell tales of Incan sacrifice, worship and royalty. The Amazon, meanwhile, comprises the most expansive rainforest in the world, home to the second-longest river on earth and the life-giving artery that pumps its way across South America. Much of this territory is untamed and some is even unchartered!
On this tour you will have the opportunity to explore the famous Machu Picchu, enjoy spotting exotic animals and other wildlife in the rainforest, and create memories to last a lifetime!
Our accommodation in Rio Bamba was terrible, I felt I could not use the shower as it was so dilapidated. We only had one towel that had already been ripped in half. We felt it would have been hygenically unsafe to use the 'restaurant' and went out for breakfast. We were unsure why we went to Rio Bamba as it was not a nice place and it felt unsafe at night. Apart from 4 nights the accommodation was quite good. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and spoke to us for most of the time during the coach journeys. Nothing was too much trouble for him to do for us. The itinerary was very good apart from Rio Bamba (which should have been avoided) and a wasted last day in Quito. We could have caught an earlier flight to Quito, from Cuenca, the next day and not spent another day in a hotel that is a long way from Quito city which we had already explored.. Also it would have been better to have flown from Cuenca on the early morning flight to Quito then straight to Bogota and the to LHR.
Take in the highlights of captivating Colombia, wander around colonial cities, uncover sun-kissed beaches nestled in the wildlife-rich Tayrona national park and discover the ancient stone monuments of San Agustin on this 16 day adventure which starts in bustling Bogota and ends in sun-kissed Cartagena.
Nearly all of the guides were wonderful.
I don’t remember the name of the guide who took us to El Chaltén but we appreciated that he took us seriously as trekkers and suggested a slightly longer trek with beautiful views. We thoroughly enjoyed that trek!
And we also were very happy with our guide in Tiera del Fuego. She was very lively, knowledgeable and provided us with a couple of wonderful hike and a delicious lunch. We loved all she knew about the birds, trees and geology on the area."
This was an excellent trip in every way. The leader Alejandro was outstanding- very caring, helpful , informative and well-organised. Peru is a varied and interesting country and although Machu Picchu was spectacular there were many other highlights to our tour. The itinerary covered a lot of ground but it was not too rushed with a good mix of organised activities and some free time. The transport by bus and train was comfortable and the hotels were good and well-situated.
