Holland evokes visions of winding canals, colourful tulip fields and charming wooden clogs. Of course, no visit to Amsterdam is complete without a cycling or walking tour; but the country’s other cities are equally beautiful. The Hague offers beautiful views of the Northern Sea and some fascinating museums, while Rotterdam is known across the continent for its impressive modern architecture. View our Holland tours below.

From Van Gogh to tulips to Amsterdam blossoms, March is an excellent time to take a trip to the Netherlands— at least if you’re happy to rug up. Colder temperatures mean far fewer tourists, which results in thinner crowds, cheap airfares and better-value hotels.

Honest insights from past guests on our Holland tours

Rosmiati T. | Traveled in May

The European Highlights trip was an amazing experience from beginning to end. Everything was very well organized, making it easy to enjoy each destination without stress. It was the perfect way to see several beautiful countries and famous landmarks in one trip. One of the best parts of the tour was visiting so many iconic cities and experiencing different cultures, foods, and architecture all in a short time. Every destination had something unique and memorable, from charming old towns to breathtaking scenery and historic sites. The hotels were comfortable and conveniently located, and transportation between cities was smooth and efficient. The itinerary was busy but well planned, with enough free time to explore, shop, and enjoy local restaurants. The tour guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful throughout the journey. They shared interesting history and local information that made the experience even more meaningful. The group atmosphere was also fun, and it was nice meeting people from different places. Some days involved a lot of walking and early mornings, but it was absolutely worth it to see so many incredible places. I would highly recommend the European Highlights trip to anyone who wants a memorable introduction to Europe and an easy way to experience multiple countries in one vacation.

Lovely itinerary, seeing all the main attractions in a compact area. The tour was very efficient in use of time. Because of the longer daylight summer hours, a lot of sightseeing could be fitted into one day.

Itinerary was well planned. Travel director knew where to go, where to stop for coffee/toliet breaks, where to enjoy meals, where to see important monuments and when to stop for photo shoots. Every day was well planned out with departure from hotel, stops along the way, end the day return to hotel. It was a perfectly orchestrated vacation! Loved it!

This was an amazing trip to many magnificent places. John our travel director and Paul our driver were very kind. I would highly recommend this trip. It was well planned and excellent communication throughout.

Our trip exceeded our expectations and we loved our travels. We saw so many sights and learned a lot about each destination. Our travel director John was excellent giving lots of information about the sights we were seeing and enabled us to have a lot of fun with our travel group. It was obvious that John enjoyed travelling and he was encouraging and motivated us to explore. The activities were wonderful and we especially enjoyed having dinner at a winery in Heidelberg and hearing about the history of the family-owned winery. We felt we had a good balance of exploring the sights, seeing beautiful scenery, having great dinners and entertainment and having free time to relax. I would definitely do a Trafalgar trip again.

Deborah W. | Traveled in May

The country is beautiful, enough time for lunches, walking was balanced throughtout the activies and site seeing. Coach was comfortable. Especially liked the dinner on a families farm on our last night. Loved the multiple canal cruises in different cities. Everything was wonderful.
