Customer Reviews
We did the self-guided bike and barge trip from Amsterdam to Bruges. We loved everything about this trip - the atmosphere of the barge itself, getting to know other passengers, connecting with other self-guided passengers, the incredible bike routes and paths that kept us away from cars for much of the cycling. All in all an incredible experience.
Barge and biking was a wonderful trip. Great way to see the countries. Appreciate the setup and the ability to do it unguided.
The boat and hotel side of this holiday was great, but the cycling part of this trip was a little disappointing in comparison with our previous ventures. The weather didn't help us, as there was a headwind for a few of the days as well as some rainy grey days, but the routes were uninspiring (not a great deal to look at, or places to stop spontaneously) and the arrangements were a little less organised in advance as previously experienced. The guides, although very friendly, were both there for one week each, so not regular on that route and therefore the plans were not cohesive.
Had a good time. Barge crew, food and guides were excellent.
First class service on the boat - meals & amenities! Ability & ease to self guide our cycling. Bikes were terrific except for the hard seats - take your own gel seat cover!
