A "Hidden Gem" tour. Full 'experiences' but not overwhelming. Caring, smart and experienced Tour Director! Great bus driver, never put us at risk. Food and hotels excellent. Itinerary; looked forward to every next day: mountains, live music, ski jumpers, train rides, horse and buggy, castles and churches. Has free time to rest or follow your own trail. Read the tour itinerary in detail and then BOOK IT!

I found the itinerary great, varied and great food & wine. I loved the history of Portugal, the language and the places visited. I was concerned that there was at least one person on the trip not fully physically capable of the walking, steps, cobbles, etc.

Our tour guide (Annelies Zwijns) was absolutely superb. She handled a myriad of activities every day and the trip went flawlessly. The tour of northern Italy was breathtaking, with everything from a snowstorm in the Dolomites to sunning in the Lake District. I highly recommend this tour and company. My only reservation is hidden presence of excursion prices. The overall tour is priced very reasonably. But at many locations, the things one really wants to see are available only in "optional" excursions. Booking these trips resulted in an extra $1,000 in costs for the two of us. I think these added expenses should be advertised upfront. I would also like to have had more community dinners, where the whole tour gathered for a common meal. These meals are so helpful in building a valuable group identity. I would be willing to pay more for the tour initially to have more of these meals.
