Affordable Patagonia Tours
Patagonia is not cheap by South American standards, but it can be affordable if you manage logistics well. Our affordable Patagonia tours cover Argentina and Chile, including Perito Moreno Glacier, El Calafate, El Chaltén, Ushuaia, guided hikes and cross-border routes. Argentina’s side is usually better for travelers exploring Patagonia on a budget, while Chile’s Torres del Paine often costs more because of park fees, refugio stays and transfers. Cheap Patagonia tours can still include glacier viewpoints, trekking, wildlife spotting and mountain towns. Compare each of our cheap Patagonia tour packages by price, route, meals, transfers, park fees, excursions and inclusions before booking.
We guarantee the best prices on all our tours. If you find a lower price within 24 hours of booking, we'll match it.

Budget Travel Tips for Patagonia
Book Refugios Early for Peak W Trek Season
Refugio and campsite availability drives W Trek cost. For December–February, book as early as possible, ideally six months or more ahead. Late planners often pay more, compromise on route order or switch from self-guided to packaged options because the practical beds are gone.
Choose Argentina-Only if the Budget Is Tight
El Calafate and El Chaltén usually offer the simplest budget Patagonia route. You can see Perito Moreno Glacier, hike near Fitz Roy and avoid Chilean-side park logistics, cross-border transfers and Torres del Paine accommodation pressure. It is not the full Patagonia sampler, but it is the cleanest entry point.
Self-Cater Where Possible
Food costs climb in remote towns and on trekking routes. Buy groceries in larger towns, use hostel kitchens and carry trail snacks. On the W Trek, refugio meals are convenient but expensive, so decide where meals are worth paying for and where simple self-catering makes sense.
Rent Only the Gear You Truly Need
Gear rental is useful, but it can quietly drain the budget. Rent specialist items such as trekking poles, sleeping bags or tents only if the itinerary requires them. Do not rent a full outdoor wardrobe because a packing list scared you. Layers, waterproofs and broken-in hiking shoes matter most.
Do Not Over-Route
Patagonia is huge. Adding Ushuaia, Bariloche, Torres del Paine and El Chaltén to one short trip means more flights, buses, transfers and one-night stays. A smaller route usually costs less and feels better. Two excellent bases beat five rushed postcards.
Buy Park Tickets Early and Check Payment Rules
Park tickets, payment systems and entry rules change. Torres del Paine uses online pass validation, and Los Glaciares has official tariffs for foreign visitors. Buy tickets through official channels where possible and check whether cash, cards or QR passes are required before arriving.

Wonderful tour, the tour guides were friendly helpful and knownledgable about all the areas of Italy we traveled too. The food both provided and suggested was very good. Italy it's beauty, history, culture and it's people were very good making for a great trip. Collette keeps you moving so you can experience a lot on your trip at a good value in very nice accommodations. The art and history of Italy was my favorite part of the trip.
The Peru tour was truly a once in a lifetime, incredible experience. There were so many excursions and opportunities to immerse ourselves into the Peruvian culture. It felt like no time was wasted on this tour and that there was a commitment for us to see as much of Peru as possible. The most memorable part of the tour for me was meeting and spending time with the locals who still speak the native language and follow ancient traditions. I highly recommend this tour!
Our recent Alpine Lakes and Scenic Trains tour with Collette exceeded every expectation. From the breathtaking mountain scenery and crystal-clear alpine lakes to the unforgettable train journeys through some of the most spectacular landscapes in the world, every day felt like a postcard come to life. The itinerary was thoughtfully planned, offering the perfect balance of sightseeing, relaxation, and cultural experiences. The hotels were comfortable and well-located, the included meals were excellent, and every detail was handled seamlessly. What truly made this trip exceptional was our tour manager, whose knowledge, organization, and enthusiasm enhanced every experience. We never had to worry about logistics, allowing us to simply enjoy the beauty and charm of each destination. Highlights included the stunning alpine vistas, picturesque villages, and the world-famous scenic rail journeys that provided views we could never have experienced any other way. Every stop offered something unique and memorable. This was our first Alpine adventure with Collette, and it certainly won’t be our last. If you’re considering this tour, don’t hesitate—you’ll return home with incredible memories, amazing photos, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of the region. Highly recommended!
Our tour manager JP Ruze was the best. He was like family to us. My wife had our passport stolen. He was with us everyday. Guiding us so we could stay with the tour and receive our emergency passports. If you had all JP Ruze as a your Tour manager. Every tour would be sold out. He is like family to us and miss him. Please provide him with everything he needs and Collette would have many return guests. Thank You Chris Hickok
Wonderful, interesting sites to see. Learned a lot about Italy that we never knew. Stayed at great hotels, including a cave and a dome hut in a cute little village. Perfect guide who was very knowledgeable about his country and the places we visited. Loved all the small towns and the historical sites and information.
The tour was fabulous. We saw so many amazing places. Antonio, the Tour Director, went above and beyond all of our expectations. With a small group of 18, each experience was even more meaningful. If I had to pick one best day, it would be the beauty and peacefulness of Siena. The hotels were fabulous, especially the last three nights in the Villa.
