Transylvania Tours and Trips

The tour company is outstanding. Everything was excellent from airport transfers to our guide Marcel. The company was extremely helpful prior to the trip; answering promptly and completely and securing an extra night for us at the end and ensuring we could stay in the same room. Airport transfers were extremely smooth, even our 3 AM pick up for our return flight. The drivers were polite, the car was spotless and they were on time. The itinerary was amazing showing us the beauty and diversity of the country, from natural wonders, castles, churches, small villages and beautiful historic cities and towns. A perfect route and selection of the many of the best things to do and see. The tour is packed with sights, views and beautiful drives. The only downside is that you are only in a hotel for one night but it is the only way to see as much as we did in 10 days. The hotels were 4 star, unique and located in the perfect location. Our guide, Marcel Ene was a gem. He made the trip perfect in everyway. He was knowledgeable, funny, courteous, helpful and engaging. He told us personal stories to help us gain a deeper understand of the culture, the people and the country. It was like touring with a friend, which he was by the end of the tour. The company and guide pay attention to details to make sure that everything about the trip is memorable and perfect.

We cannot speak highly enough about how great our “Dracula Beyond the Legend” tour was with our guide Marcel in July/August 2023. Marcel spoke incredible English and was immensely knowledgeable about Romanian history, culture, religion, traditions and its flora, fauna, wildlife and geography. He was also an excellent driver and knew exactly how to make the most of every sight and location. We cannot believe how much we saw and experienced; Marcel was dedicated, excited to show off his country’s impressive culture and landscapes, and absolutely indefatigable in terms of energy. We had an absolutely wonderful time and we highly recommend this tour to anyone and everyone. We felt most privileged to see Romania through Marcel’s eyes and cannot imagine any better way to experience this beautiful and richly cultured country. In addition to all the spectacular sights (Bran Castle, Peles Castle, and Sibiu were among our all-time favs, but honestly there are too many highlights to name), we also got to see brown bears up close in Transylvania! Highly recommended!

We had a wonderful adventure on this tour, with our excellent and friendly guide, Laurentiu. We never saw so many sunflowers in our lives and the Carpathians were breathtaking. As we wondered, our knowledgeable guide brought the history of the region to life, helping us picture what life was and in many cases, still is like there. We particularly loved Sighisoara and Sibiu -- they are living, breathing medieval towns -- vibrant and fascinating. From the ruins of Vlad's court in Targoviste, to the amazing Black Church in Brasov, to Corvin Castle, Romania was an eye-opening wonder for us. In addition, the people that we interacted with were open and kind, with a good grasp of English, and we enjoyed the European ease of dining whenever you want, and everything was fresh. It was a fabulous trip!

We have just completed a really enjoyable and interesting 8 day trip through Transylvania which was enhanced by our guide, Gelu, whose knowledge, enthusiasm and experience were superb. All the arrangements made by this company worked exactly as expected. We substituted a visit to Peles Castle rather than Snagov Monastery as the former is of more interest and lay on our route. The accommodation throughout (4* hotels) was better than we had expected. All in all, apart from the Bucharest traffic, it was a most enjoyable trip.

"My main tip to those thinking of going to Romania is do it! We knew very little about the country so it was a real eye-opener: a beautiful country with such friendly people. And such a varied history from Michael the Brave and Vlad the Impaler to the Ceausescu Regime and recovery into a thriving country. We were delighted by the service we received from this tour company, especially our guide/driver Marcel, who was a font of knowledge and made it his aim that we got the most out of every hour. But if you want some other tips: ..Learn the basics of please, thank you, greetings for morning, afternoon and evening etc. .. Do a bit of research into the history before you go so you know more than Ceausescu's death on Christmas Day!"
