Itinerary

Be part of the tour that was listed in the Top 10 Must-do Adventure by Fodor's Travel Guide. This 8-Days trip will take you through the myths and legends surrounding the famous Dracula all the way into his lair, the famous Bran Castle.

This tour includes The Great Dracula Ball in Transylvania, in Sighisoara Medieval Citadel, Dracula's Birthplace. Have fun and enjoy special events such as The Ritual of Killing of The Living Dead, a unique magic show and an unforgettable ballet performance, 'Vampiresa Hunting'. Next, have fun at a Halloween Dinner Party in Arefu, a village located along the famous Transfagarasan road.

Visit unique places related to Vlad the Impaler such as the Saxon cities of Brasov or Sibiu. The third Halloween Party takes place at the iconic Bran Castle, also known as Dracula's Castle.

We will drop you off at the hotel so you can rest after the tour and return home the following day.

day 1 - Arrive in Bucharest – Snagov – Bucharest

Welcome to Romania! Meet your tour guide at the reception desk of the Moxa Boutique Hotel before setting off toward Snagov. Visit the legendary Snagov Monastery, believed to be the burial site of Vlad the Impaler after his assassination. Set on a small island in the middle of Lake Snagov, the monastery reflects the architectural style of the monasteries on Greece’s Mount Athos.

Return to Bucharest for a guided city tour, then unwind at your comfortable 4-star hotel in the heart of the city.

Duration:1 hours
Accommodation:4 Star Hotel at Moxa Boutique (or best available at an equal classification)

day 2 - Bucharest – Arefu – Halloween Dinner Party in Arefu

After breakfast, drive to Arefu — the village where Vlad the Impaler is said to have retired after defeating his enemies in brutal battles. A popular stop for those fascinated by the legends of Vlad Țepeș and Dracula, Arefu offers a chilling glimpse into the region’s dark and bloody past.

Later, enjoy a lively Halloween Dinner Party before settling in for the night at Valea cu Pești Hotel. Built on the former site of a cottage once owned by Nicu Ceaușescu, son of Romania’s communist dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu, it’s a stay with a story of its own.

Duration:3 hours
Accommodation:4 Star Hotel at Valea cu Pesti (or best available at an equal classification)
Meals:Breakfast, Dinner

day 3 - Arefu – Sibiu

Say goodbye to Arefu and continue to Sibiu, the medieval Saxon city named European Capital of Culture in 2007. Once the heart of Romania’s German community, this beautifully preserved fortified town is widely considered one of the country’s most charming destinations. With its cobbled streets, colourful squares, and impressive landmarks, Sibiu is home to one of the highest concentrations of tourist attractions in Romania.

Tonight, check in to a comfortable 4-star hotel.

Duration:3 hours
Accommodation:4 Star Hotel at Continental (or best available at an equal classification)
Meals:Breakfast

day 4 - Sibiu – Hunedoara – Cluj-Napoca

Depart the striking medieval town of Sibiu and travel to Hunedoara to visit Corvin Castle, Romania’s finest example of Gothic architecture. Built in the 14th century on the site of a former Roman camp, the fortress was transformed in the mid-1400s into the residence of Transylvania’s ruler, Iancu de Hunedoara. His enhancements turned it into one of the most impressive castles in the region.

Continue to Cluj-Napoca for a city tour, where you’ll admire elegant medieval landmarks, including Saint Michael’s Cathedral.

Duration:3.5 hours
Accommodation:4 Star Hotel at Beyfin (or best available at an equal classification)
Meals:Breakfast

day 5 - Cluj-Napoca – Sighisoara Citadel – Great Dracula Ball

Travel to Turda and descend into one of Romania’s largest salt mines. Explore the vast underground chambers of the Turda Salt Mine, where impressive halls are named after kings and queens, creating a surreal, almost otherworldly atmosphere.

After this remarkable visit, continue to the medieval citadel of Sighișoara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site founded by Saxons in the 12th century. One of Europe’s best-preserved and still-inhabited fortified cities, it is also the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler. Wander the cobbled streets, admire the iconic Clock Tower, visit the Church on the Hill, and climb the historic Covered Stairs.

At 8:00 PM, prepare for the legendary Dracula Ball in the heart of Transylvania. Expect fiery spirits, excellent Romanian wine, and a theatrical program featuring the Ritual of Killing of the Living Dead, Vampiress Hunting, and plenty of dark surprises along the way. The Halloween celebration continues into the night, casting its spell until 1:00 AM.

Duration:2.5 hours
Accommodation:3 Star Hotel at Casa Wagner (or best available at an equal classification)
Meals:Breakfast, Dinner

day 6 - Sighisoara – Brasov – Bran – Halloween Party

Travel to the medieval Saxon city of Brașov, one of Romania’s most atmospheric destinations. Surrounded by mountains and rich in history, Brașov is known for its beautifully preserved old town and its most famous landmark — the Black Church, the largest Gothic building in South-Eastern Europe.

Next, continue to Bran Castle, famous for its dramatic setting and the Dracula myth popularised by Bram Stoker.

Take time to rest before dinner at 18:00, then dress up for a festive Halloween Costume Dinner. From there, head straight to Bran Castle for a night visit of Transylvania’s most iconic sight. Please note that the evening tour of the castle is not guided — your tour guide will provide all necessary details in advance.

At 19:30, enjoy the Ultimate Halloween Party at Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle). Explore the castle decorated for Halloween and “inhabited” by wicked fairies and friendly witches. Around 21:00, the party begins on the castle grounds and continues until 04:00 AM, with a large heated tent set up for the event. Admission to the Bran Castle property is available from 19:00, and your exact departure time will be arranged with your tour guide.

Duration:2.5 hours
Accommodation:3 Star Hotel at Hanul Bran (or best available at an equal classification)
Meals:Breakfast, Dinner

day 7 - Bran – Sinaia – Bucharest

Drive to Sinaia, known as the “pearl” of Romania’s mountain resorts, and visit the ground floor of the stunning Peleș Palace.

Later, continue to Bucharest, arriving in the evening. Please note that traffic is often heavy on Sundays between Bran and Bucharest, so the estimated arrival time in Bucharest is around 7:00 PM.

Duration:3 hours
Accommodation:4 Star Hotel at Moxa Boutique (or best available at an equal classification)
Meals:Breakfast

day 8 - Bucharest

Depart Romania with unforgettable memories — and perhaps a little reluctance to leave.

If needed, we can arrange your transfer to the airport for a smooth journey home.

Please note that airport transfers are not included in the tour price.
