This was an amazing trip and fantastic hike. The scenery was just spectacular and the inns we stayed in were so charming. Trina really put together a wonderful trip and there were no surprises or problems with any part of the trip. We are already planning our 2024 hike with Trina.
Well organised, smooth luggage transfers, some excellent accommodation but most of all a stunning coastline to walk along. Some inclement weather did make the walk more challenging than expected but did not detract from our overall experience.
Trina was great in booking our trip. Responsive and helpful with important tips. Luggage moves went without a problem. Maps useful. Beautiful hiking!!! Towns were very crowded in August (we were warned) but delightful.
The baggage transfer worked very efficiently and usually our vans were already in our rooms on arrival at our accommodation. The accommodation itself varied quite a lot - understandable since in some places availability is limited. Some accommodation could not offer picnic lunches - difficult if there is no local shop. In some places breakfast was served quite late for propke wanting to start walking early. Overall, though, we really enjoyed our walk.
We took a beautiful walk from St. Ives to Mevagissey. We found the west coast especially spectacular and impressive. The walks were easy; at the end the daily distances were sometimes too long for us; solved by taking the bus/taxi. The hotels and B&Bs were generally very nice with good beds and showers. The breakfast was well prepared and almost everywhere the reception was very hospitable and helpful. The combination of coast and greenery, the towns and villages with the sea constantly on your right was wonderful. We also had fantastic weather, with sun and blue skies every day except for one day. Cornwall at its best! The materials and preparation in advance by the company were top notch, the luggage transport went smoothly. Thanks for that!
The hike was a little more challenging than I thought. It is relatively short but the terrain is rocky so you are looking down often. However, you are rewarded by the most spectacular scenery especially on the first and second days. I would say the best scenery in any of the SWCP. Accommodation and food was good. Weather was great in June with no rain (for the month). I am not the greatest fan of Penzance although it is a natural end point. I will do this trip but will push onto Mevagissey next time.
