Porto Tours and Trips

It’s a fabulous trip. Our Tour Director Helder Almeida was the best we’ve ever had in any trip we’ve done anywhere in the world. Top class! And our driver Alfredo was incredible.

Learned so much about history of Portugal. Enjoyed traveling through and seeing the different areas of Portugal - big cities of Lisbon and Porto; the beautiful Douro valley with its vineyards, olive groves, and cork trees; and smaller places like Monsarez, Evora (walled city with its Roman Temple) and Coimbra university. We were surprised by the lovely Algarve coastline & wished we could have stayed there another day. Such a wonderful trip.

The cities and sites seen were beautiful and historical. The coach had plenty of leg room. The travel time was managable, we felt comfortable, safe and very entertained. The local tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The hotels were upscale, clean and comfortable. The choices of dining experiences were great, food was delectable and there was no shortage of wine or beer at the restaurants.

Fantastic holiday loved it - very challenging in the heat but beautiful itinerary, great group and wonderful leader-highly recommend. This is my 16th holiday I’ve done with explore over the last 30 years and really do think cycling is the best way to explore a country.

Such a great tour, mostly lovely bike paths some streets with more traffic but still great for cycling with great views. Great fellow travellers. Superbe and very friendly guide Lucas, who managed to keep the group together easily and without pushing or stopping anyone and driver Paulo who did a lot of work behind the scenes (was also our picnic chef). Clean accommodation, perfectly located. Bikes in good shape. However the trip ist expensive considering it's not even a week long and only breakfast is included. I would change the itinerary and add a day at a beach town in the middle, after 2 or 3 days cycling it makes sense to have a break from it and enjoy the beautiful beaches and relax a bit.

Good variety of restaurants & stops. Comfortable bus with legroom & plenty of comfort stops. Experienced bus driver keeping a clean bus & a smooth ride. Experienced & friendly tour guide sharing valuable information on locations and tour logistics. Upgraded hotels in city centers. Interesting itineraries & excursions with knowledgeable guides. Small group trips available.
